Disney and Doctor Who part ways

Right, but RTD / Bad Wolf isn't going to be involved with the (hypothetical) upcoming season, so none of those outlines or scripts are likely to be available.
It seems like I'm not the only one shocked by this, so I think you might been misinformed because I find it hard to believe all of us have missed an announcement this big.

Who says this?
Someone quoted it from the Leaks Discord, that christmas 2026 would be RTD's final episode.
Nothing has been announced and nothing will be announced until a new showrunner is hired and a season has been ordered.

Since it's speculation only, my opinion is that BBC would rather have a limited season if they can't film a full one in 2027 than wait for a new showrunner and all that entails pushing the next season up to 28 or 29.

December 2026 -- that's five years for Rusty in his second go-round. We may not have gotten a lot of episodes out of it, but that seems like a good point to move on.

I don't really care at this point, as long as we can (hopefully) get at least some episodes in 2027, if not a full season, I'm happy.
The years between releases is not helping.

Since we're broaching this subject, here's my take on the season numbering of the past few years, according to me and me only:

Season 14:
The 2023 David Tennant Specials

Series 1: OR Season 15:
Ncuti Gatwa's first season, spanning the 2023 Christmas Special and Disney's first series

Series 2, OR Season 16:
Ncuti Gatwa's second season, spanning the 2024 Christmas Special and Disney's second and final series

So really, the next series could be series 3/season 17. But I count the Tennant specials as a series.
Yep, I tend to liat the 2022 and 2023 apecials as season 40, as it makes the numbering easier. Gatwa is 1/2 or 41/42.

Yep. People making it have forgotten how long a year seems to a kid.I suspect I gor hooked in 75 because it was on so often.

I generally go by the official descriptions by the producers (e.g. seasons 1-26 then series 1-15 plus specials. Makes things less confusing for those not familiar with the colloquialisms or tweaks. It's not like the whole of the franchise isn't confusing enough for newcomers already :guffaw: )

Have any been rumors or anything about who might be picking up the 9-13th Doctor seasons now that HBO Max has dumped them? I had started a rewatch starting with David Tennant's last regular season and specials, and I would like to get back to it without having to buy the seasons.

My job situation is a little questionable right now, so I'm trying watch my money and was hoping to watch them on a streaming service I'm already paying for. I did look and one of my local libraries has the DVDs, so I might just go that route.
