I've long called the F-35 the joint strike turkey.

now the US Government Accountability Office has come out with damning reported on the program as it continues to fall behind with block 4 aircraft which are supposed to addressing current emerging threats won't be ready for6 years and will cost more to delivery less.

and the manufacturers are still making a pretty big chunk of change. under the contract they be receive incentive payments to get things moving along.

so as the program slip behinds they've received multiple millions in payments.

and even when they've been fined $5mil per aircraft that has been delivered but not combat capable (will be used for training and avoids Lockheed-Martin having nearly 100 aircraft at it's facilties) that's small percentage of the cost.

but has been out of production for years so there's they'd have to start from scratch for put them back in production and their export was restricted by act of congress (but I guess having to eat then entire budget is why they looked for buyers outside the U.S on the F-35).

meanwhile boeing is avoiding criminal prosecution after a judge reluctantly agreed the DoJ request to withdraw the charges.

one can't be help to wonder what quip pro quo has on in back corridors because once again boeing has gotten away with actions that would brought down many other companies.

And they're truly the fox guarding the hen house as regulators continue to let them self certify.

was watching a video on Youtube a couple of weeks back (from Ron Rogers) about the the crash of a 737 due to a thrust reverse deploying in flight, Something boeing said couldn't happen until it did and in turns out the company's self regulation was big factor.
