Almost done with Season 3, and the tonal shift in this season from the previous two seasons is a little jarring. Not really liking what they did to Hopper this season. Made him more of the comic relief rather than what he was in the first two seasons.

Almost done with Season 3, and the tonal shift in this season from the previous two seasons is a little jarring. Not really liking what they did to Hopper this season. Made him more of the comic relief rather than what he was in the first two seasons.

For me, I thought season 3 was the most 80s in tone of all the seasons. Season 1 pulled a lot from ET, Season 2 reminded me a lot of a slasher style film, and season 3 was a Schwarzenegger style action movie.

i actually can imagine in season 5 nancy or eleven saying a 80s arnold style action movie catchphase to finish off henry aka vecna aka number 1

That big Russian dude who was Kinda the bad guy did look a little like Schwarzenegger in the terminator movies. I get the nostalgia (And the Neverending Story scene) but to go from kind of softcore horror of the first two seasons to more of action thriller in Season 3 was a pretty big change in tone. Looking back (And I did finish the season last night), I wish this was the year they actually explored The Upside Down and left the Russians out of it. I'm glad they will actually explore the origins of that world, finally, in Season 5.
