Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

^ @vfxart , the "support" emoji seems somewhat inadequate here. I'm so sorry you're in this situation. I hope things can turn around for you.

Unfortunately for all of us, I fear that with the way things are going, stories like this are just going to get more and more common. :(

Thank you. There's hardly any work out there now, for my specialties. Companies may list jobs, but at times it's only to look good for investors; there's no actual position to fill. All of the hoop-jumping still happens, though. Several hundreds of of applicants for one spot is not uncommon. One I went after had over 1k. At least I was in the top 25 and considered, but the company folded, not getting the financing it had hoped for.

I know a lot of folks are struggling and then some across trades and arts. And we face the AI morons who think 'ideas' are the thing. Brutal.

Training to make a lateral move, that means time and money, and I'm out of each. And, at 56, certain barriers are massive.

I spent most of my career helping millionaires make more, with naught to show for it all after the three years now. I can only do what I know though, so back to it... words and images won't create themselves...

Thanks again Avro.

A briefing sounds like when everyone on the ship puts on underwear.
That reminds me of an old joke: Only a lawyer could write a 5,000-word document and call it a brief.

In other news, I was surfing the internet and came across this item. It seems Smucker's is suing Trader Joe's over the design and packaging of their frozen peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches.

My first thought was, frozen peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches? For real? Who the hell buys these? It takes less than a minute to grab two slices of a loaf of bread, spread peanut butter on one and jelly on the other, and slap them together. Not to mention the cost is probably less than one-tenth of what you'd pay for one of these prefab things. How fucking lazy are people these days, anyway? What's next -- frozen toast?

A quick Google search shows that there are six varieties of frozen toast available in the freezer section at your local supermarket.
