Great Moments: Crusher/Data

Despite what its detractors say, I think TNG had a lot of wonderful character development. Probably the moments I think about most involve interaction between two different members of the crew. I've decided I'm going to start some new threads (spread out over time) in which to discuss favorite moments of interaction between different given members of a crew. My guess is that any combination had some great moments.

I decided to start off with two of my favorite TNG characters, Data and Dr. Crusher. One of my favorite moments in all of Trek is when she teaches him how to dance (could someone please remind me of the episode?) - what a hilarious, well-conceived scene.

Any thoughts on this or other great moments of interaction between Dr. Crusher and Data?

That was from Data's Day, and I agree, one of the greatest scenes in TNG's run...Data's attempts to smile charmingly still crack me up.

Other than that scene though...I honestly don't remember Crusher and Data interacting that much at all. It's not like he ever needed medical advice of any sort...

I know it was a movie, but I did enjoy seeing Data push Crusher off the ship into the ocean.

They kind of hung him out to dry for doing that. I say they all should have started pushing each other in. Give the guy a break, and have a laugh.

I love the little scene in Datalore when Data's explaining to Beverly about his off-switch.

There's the scene in The Offspring where Data comes to her for advice on parenting.

Oh, and I rather like the scene where Beverly's tending to a pregnant Spot and Data's playing the part of the anxious father-to-be. Is that Genesis?

I liked the bit in "Data's Day" when they are "running" and she stops but he continues maniacally.

Yeah, any other group of friends of co-workers in that situation would laugh their asses off. Geordi's line after the push should have been: "Data! That was . . .FRICKIN' HILARIOUS!"

I like all the relationships of TNG's big seven. Team any of these guys up and it was golden.
