Just looked into all of these the only ones I knew was the ones who played Spock in 'In Search For Spock', and than Nimoy, Peck and Quinto, I didn't know there was so many people who played Spock that is actually really interesting to me.Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock.
There is no comparison.
But for the sake of discussion my ranking from best to most average would be:
Leonard Nimoy > Ethan Peck > Zachary Quinto > Liam Hughes > Todd Haberkorn > Jeffrey Quinn > Ben Tolpin > Brandon Stacy > Jacob Kogan > Billy Simpson > Joe W. Davis > Stephen Manley > Vadia Potenza > Carl Steven
Sorry if I missed anyone off the list, I'm only human.
Tuvok was the second-best Vulcan after Nimoy's Spock.I’m not tired of Spock, but I agree with all the rest.
Tuvok was great.
Some might get cute and claim he was twice the Vulcan Spocko ever was.Tuvok was the second-best Vulcan after Nimoy's Spock.
In my opinion I think Ethan Peck is amazing actor and I think he can play Spock amazingly, he plays the type of Spock that is completely aware of his Vulcan side and understands what it is to be a Vulcan, but he doesn't understand his human side and doesn't understand what it's like to have and to feel emotions, I do enjoy seeing Spock more Vulcan than human as with Leonard Nimoy I saw it the completely other way around. I have yet to finish season 2 of SNW so no spoilers here! But I did see the episode where he really had a human problem and he had to hide how human he was, I enjoyed that seeing Ethan portray the human side was so interesting to me as we saw a lot more of angry Spock than sad or confused Spock.
Overall, I really do love them all for different reasons honestly I do. Although I think as of now Leonard Nimoy will stay my favourite but I do look forward to hearing what others think of Spock and what ways you see him and if it's completely different from my point of view.
Iggy Out!
Nimoy was incredible as Spock—he set the bar so high, it's nearly impossible to reach.
Quinto did a great job in the role. I was really hesitant at first, but he won me over with how well he portrayed Spock’s emotional depth. The turbolift scene, where Uhura asks him what he needs, is one of my all-time favorite moments in all of Trek.
And now we have Ethan Peck. I’d say he’s a decent Spock. I appreciate that he’s bringing a more comedic angle to the character—more than we saw in TOS—but it doesn't always work in his favor. That “Four and a half Vulcans” episode was particularly rough.
That said… Ethan Peck is ridiculously easy on the eyes, and honestly, that’s the main reason he’s my favorite.
There, I said it.![]()
The comedic is killing the character in SNW. Also I remember that scene where uhura kisses Quintos Spock after he lost his planet on trek 2009.
star trek 2009 showed how you can write a cool romance with a vulcan in a 2 hour movie and make it work or make it tolerable, especially for a guy like spock who should not have a romance in the first place.
that scene with the kiss, Quinto Spock showed a good balance of his vulcan and human side and his vulcan side been more dominant again by the end.
Spock gives uhura a hard emotionless stare
uhura breaks him down by kissing him
spock gets himself together and goes vulcan again
one more kiss that shows his human side again
spock leaves the lift goes all vulcan again
All of this was happened in one scene.
I remember well how the scene played out because I was shocked by the romance but also it was the best acting moment from Quinto and Saldana, not to mention the more subtle mature chemistry they had, that made audience root for spock/uhura over kirk/uhura even though the film for the first hour has led us to believe that kirk/uhura would be the couple. In SNW why should I root for chapel over tpring or now even laan? I tire of the soap opera
it also does not help that in SNW the girlfriends were making all the decision and Spock just submitted to their will. Quinto Spock and Uhura were more balanced as a couple.
I know this may sound odd but I hope SNW Spock can be written more from a male perspective angle in the upcoming seasons that would help a lot.
Quinto is a better actor than Peck as he is more natural on screen, Sometimes Peck looks as if he is spitting his lines. Quinto tends to just flow better, also I would say that Quinto had played a cold less killer on NBC Heroes, so I am sure that helped a lot when he played Spock who mostly comes of cold and unfeeling. A lot of Sylar's characterization can be used for Spock especially with the mystery in the character too.
Also I highly doubt peck spock has understood his vulcan side. this is a criticism of the show that peck spock is too human and the excuse is that , they are exploring his human side.
Quinto Spock just from one film has shown more of his vulcan side than peck has ever been, while admitting the struggle of also been half human and Quinto knows how to be subtle and also less subtle.
In trek 2009, Quinto played the perfect Vulcan until he lost his planet and even when he lost his planet he handled it mostly well for a short while.
Peck Spock I hate to say is a clown and a needy teenager especially in season 3 where they lean a lot of comedy and the show focused more on romance than sci fi thaw was mostly generic.
I agree Nimoy is the quintessential Spock. You cannot top that realistically.Nothing against Quinto or Peck--I like them both--but when I think of Spock, I think of Nimoy. Not because he was the first or had the role the longest, but his was the quintessential version of the character and had a certain gravitas and presence that was there early on, IMO.

- No,
- No; and
- No.
As for 2025, Peck Spock is the least critical acclaimed of the actors to play Spock. Here is another recent article that seem very reasonable on how to course correct in season 4 and they talk very negatively of the soap opera elements of the show that is hurting the series.
What do you call that then?... words...
Please do not reply me without showing or giving me the evidence as asked, if not I would have to put you on ignore.I am here to discuss star trek stories and charcaztion and hope to talk to fans who would reply me with honesty and in good faith. I am not here to be baited little sutbance.
