local news isnt just about keeping track of the weather for the whole week. there's local news of stuff going on in other towns like festivals or whatever. that and people getting caught diddling with little kids etc.

stuff like that goes on the local news on the CBS/Keloland where I live.

Local news is also good for finding out what's going on in your state, which often effects you more directly than national news.
