The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

After years of no interest from Sony, Jon Lovitz says Al Jean is working on a revival of "the Critic".

If "The Simpsons" can go on forever like a flying stuffed pig, if "Futurama" can come back from cancellation more times than Sweet Zombie Jesus, if "King of the Hill" get a new season after a decade of being over, if "Samurai Jack" came come long after it's cancellation to get one final concluding season, and "Beavis and Butthead" can get new episodes, SURELY, in an time where Hollywood is RIFE with opportunity to make fun of and online film critics, THIS show can come back.
While I don't want to talk ill of The Critic, I also think we should be honest enough to point out that it never had even close to a fraction of the cultural impact as those other shows you mentioned.

I don't disagree, but 'member berries, and a show that never really had the same chance/chances. The webisodes? A joke.

LXG sent Connery into retirement. Welcome to Mooseport sent Hackman into retirement. How Do You Know sent Nicholson into retirement. You can practically guarantee that Pacino and De Niro's final roles won't be ones for the highlight reel. Redford went out on a high note with The Old Man & the Gun, though Avengers: Endgame was released afterward.

Given Diesel and Caine have apparently been really close friends for decades I suspect that friendship is a big factor in him coming back.

If there is a Robin Hood reboot/remake, could they use puppetry or CGI to bring back the tree that was cut down? I don’t see how the story can work without it.
