Does anyone think Star Trek Legacy will ever happen?

what if they get replaced by Elnor and/or Kestra Troi-Riker and/or Soji? Or a brand new character altogether?

Please ... No Kestra.

There's no need to include everyone and their cat on this show.

Having Jack involved with anything that isn't nailed down just reeks of bad fanfic (Fans: "I know! We'll bring in Kestra and Miral Paris! Miral and Alexander can be an item! Oh, and Jack can be involved in a love triangle with Sidney and Kestra! :luvlove: " )

Outside of the TNG cast, and a couple of its recurring characters (Alexander and Sela), it’s a couple DS9 characters (Kira and Jake),

I doubt it.

and a few VOY characters (Harry, Janeway, and Naomi),

Janeway and Naomi? Maybe.

Harry? I don't see why.

and maybe Jurati.

Bring back Borgati! :D

They might get Chakotay too if they offer Beltran something better than the Confederation version of Chakotay and revisiting the Seven romance. These are the only names that Matalas has brought up.
You just named half of the Berman era cast, excluding Enterprise.

Seven is Everywoman.

She's you. She's me.

She's not Kirk. She's not Picard. She's not Pike.

She's not cuddly. She's not a stirring orator. She's not a goody-goody.

This woman was evil incarnate for eighteen years. She's flawed. She's made mistakes. She's done things that she regrets.

She has her issues. She's unlike any captain the Enterprise has ever had in the past.

What she DOES have is decades of experience. She knows the battlefield better than a good portion of Starfleet.

She can lead a crew through the Gates of Hell and bring 'em back alive.

I don’t see the big deal. Let Kestra be on the Ent-G and then transfer to a different ship by the end of the season.

Better than then letting the ship get crowded in the name of an ensemble cast, like what's happening with SNW.

The only one Jack seems poised to be involved with is Sydney.
I doubt it.
Maybe Kira impersonates Admiral Janeway for an episode. Since Nana Visitor did express an interest in playing Janeway at one point.
Janeway and Naomi? Maybe.

Harry? I don't see why.

Seven's post-VOY life is tied with Janeway, so it makes sense that Janeway appears again.

Naomi has yet to be followed up on. And Naomi the Fenris Ranger sounds intriguing.

Harry appears, promoted to Admiral. Wonder if he'd outrank Janeway?

Legacy needs to explain what happened to the Jurati Borg.

There are a limited number of characters they could bring back from ENT: Phlox, Feezal Phlox, a Kobali-resurrected Sim. Maybe Todd Stashwick reprises his Romulan character from ENT’s fourth season?

Everyone else would be either their descendants (Valerie Archer?), more Temporal Cold War related stories (Silik?), or hooking up their holograms with a mobile emitter.

The text accompanying this petition confuses me: When they say “Terry Matalas is a Star Trek veteran who helped Star Trek Voyager, Deep Space Nine, and Enterprise boldly go forward in the Star Trek universe”, are they claiming Matalas worked on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine? As far as I can tell he didn’t or did he?
Unless they’re meaning the characters and/or storylines from those shows get referenced in Picard, that’s a crock of bullshit. Matalas was only a PA on Enterprise.

He was an intern on DS9. He also wrote the stories for two ENT season 3 episodes and effectively ended up being Brannon Braga's protégé.

Ah, interesting. That’s the info I wasn’t able to find online after a cursory search. Are you sure, though? Only thing I see is that he was an intern on Voyager, not Deep Space Nine.
They've brought it up a few times on Inglorious Treksperts.

By later VGR Matalas was included in the end credits every 1/3 to 1/4 episodes as an assistant to the producers.

If they were going to do it, they'd have at least started development on it by now.

It was a Hail Mary that whiffed. Not the first, won't be the last.

We're not starting from Ground Zero.

We have a cast and a premise. This isn't like Tawny Newsome's show (which has yet to settle on a premise).

He didn't work on DS9. He was Brannon Braga's PA during ENT's UPN run. IDK if he worked on VOY either, but I don't think so.

I think it’s pretty clear this isn’t happening — which I think is unfortunate. I suspect the difference between this and what happened with SNW is that with that show, the powers that were already quietly wanted to do it from the start and used the characters’ appearances on DISCO to test the waters, whereas with Legacy the desire for it rose out of the production team — ie the employees — rather than the actual source of the money. And for whatever reason, the powers that are aren’t especially interested.

This is of course speculation, but I’ll bet it happened that way.

It helps that SNW is consistently good whereas PIC was 3 seperate train wrecks. You can enjoy a train wreck of course. But trying to make the magic happen again is unlikely. A young Kirk show has the potential to have something new in it. Not much but more than the old folks reunion that Legacy would have been.

It features the same ship and characters that are in the Kelvin film that Paramount is trying to get going again after ten years.

Worst comes to worst and the Kelvin film doesn't fly, they should do the Year One concept as a feature film.

The TNG cast isn't going to be in Legacy. It's not going to be Old Home Week.

There will be plenty of new people (The La Forge sisters, Jack Crusher, Dr. Ohk, Mura, Esmar, [The] Shaw[logram]).
