The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Probably a good thing with the main actress having proclaimed controversial viewpoints over the years.
Hardly the first time. Vanessa Redgrave's role acting was entirely separated from her personal viewpoints. Charlton Heston thought in his bio it'd be foolish not to cancel Redgrave or anyone else for their views. What did Bialik say to thwart the fictional reboot?

Hmm... Will it be a dramatic remake like Miami Vice (sucked) or one with more of a comedy bent like 21 Jump Street or Starsky & Hutch?

Hopefully they'll find a broken-down 82 Trans Am in a junkyard and rebuild it as a part of the film. I think William Daniels is still alive. Will they pull him out of retirement, or at the very least get a contract from him to sample his voice for AI use as the voice of K.I.T.T.?

He's currently 98, and he's very much against the use of AI in recreating his voice. I know this because, one Youtuber I watch converted his Tesla into KITT, coded an app that lets him have conversations via ChatGPT , and he contacted Daniels to get permission to use samples of his voice via AI, but he got denied. Instead what he ended up doing was an approximation using another voice and filters to get it to sound as much like KITT as they could. I've queued up the video at the particular spot where he explains it. Entire video is worth watching if you're interested though.

Not quite a remake or reboot, but Paramount having made quite a good tv series about the making of The Godfather (The Offer), Amazon MGM is now making a movie about the making of Rocky. Earlier upthread we saw that a new actor had been cast in a Rambo prequel (I think Stallone may be writing a Rocky one too), so it might be interesting to see how he compares with the actor playing the young Sly himself. In coincidence corner, he’s the same actor who tackled young Pacino (very convincingly, IMHO) in The Offer.

That was awesome - quite a comprehensive breakdown of the project.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but Prime just released "Terminal List: Dark Wolf," a prequel series that follows Taylor Kitsch's character from the original movie. Chris Pratt is in the first episode. Not sure if he shows up again.

You've just hit the jackpot. Disney can now make two making-of movies. One for the making of an animated movie, and another for the making of the live action remake of said animated movie.

They filmed this one near me. Was wondering when we'd get a trailer.

I think he’s fine in a supporting role. Excellent in The Departed, Three Kings. But other than Boogie Nights, I can’t think of a leading role where he’s really commanded the screen. Maybe Black will get that sort of performance out of him, but after Sniper and Spenser, I’m surprised anyone is casting him in screen adaptations of pulp heroes.
He was even upstaged by a stuffed toy in the Ted movies.
