I don't understand why these kinds of accounts on social media don't write "The Naked Gun Global Box Office".

Domestic (% 55)

International (% 45)
$38,900,000
Worldwide
$86,463,349

Both this film and the new Karate Kid flopped at the box office with budgets of $42-45 million. If a film about a popular '80s franchise is going to be made, it definitely shouldn't exceed $20 million. Sony made a wise decision by making "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with an $18 million budget.

Less of the tiresome same, guaranteed not to make serious money.
That was part of the constant underperforming of many of the 2025 films which were marketed in the frequently failed "must see" manner, such as every superhero film released this year. None sit among the best of the genre (despite the strong character / family aspect in the case of of FF).

The Karate Kid franchise needs another long vacation, much like the forced (translation: major flop-induced) holiday after 1994's The Next Karate Kid. The latest film was a story that needed to be added to the franchise for a shameless cash grab at empty coffers.

Like Transformers, most superhero movies are garbage. Superman was a refreshing change of pace.

Netflix and Sony are planning to expand the franchise with Cobra Kai spin-offs, which makes the most sense for the franchise.

My brother recommended COBRA KAI to me. At least the title is different enough. But not even Mikey Ironside could get me to attend a theatrical KARATE KID. Act of coward?
