Spoilers The Strange New Worlds Starship Thread™

STO is a bad example to use because the actual TOS Constitution is in fact scaled down to be smaller than the SNW 1701 Enterprise model they use in the game. Per what they showed on screen in this episode for STO to now have an accurate SNW Constitution Class, they'd either need to scale up the TOS Connie model or scale down the SNW Connie so they are the same size in the game.
STO is a theme park game.

You can visit both a 60s version of the 2260s, and the 21st century version of the 2250s with in the same game story.

hm, ok maybe the Excelsior does need to be scaled up. I'm not sure which scale STO uses for the Excelsior, maybe someone can eyeball it. They do use canon/BTS sizes if they're known (and not too big/small for gameplay), but if there's multiple ones I'm not sure which one they choose.

They've still got the California class at the older 794m length, dwarfing the Parliament class that's shown on screen to be way larger. They stick with official for better or worse.

The bigger size has always looked off.
They didn't change the size though. Pretty sure it's still the same size as the Sagan Class, minus the bottom nacelles.
It is. These things are going really cheap on the exchange right now, so it was just a matter of waiting at ESD for a friendly Sagan.

Scale up the TOS Connie.

Scale up the TOS Connie.
No. Its size is the fine the way it is, it's a time capsule of an older era.

STO's version has never been almost 800 meters.

Not sure if they're using the true 535 meter length or not, but it's smaller than the Galaxy Class at least.

And it's smaller than the Parliament

Both ships, if they're not using any official/internal numbers, are at the very least scaled based on the side of their windows, which are just Galaxy Class windows.

Well shit, I stand corrected, and gladly so!

Is there another STO ship that was the oversized and was never corrected?

Other than shuttles and other smaller ships which are scaled up for gameplay reasons, I can't think of any oversized ships.

Some people claim the Defiant is too big, but that ship had no consistent size in the show itself.

IIRC, didn't STO have to scale down the ISS Charon, Osyraa's Viridian and some of the larger Borg vessels because they were just simply too unwieldy for players to use in their own fleets?

442.6 meter length for the USS Enterprise is now unambiguously, incontrovertibly screen canon! Let the Enterprise Length Wars commence!

It really isn't. One close look at its surface details is enough to show it has been scaled incorrectly over the years.

Luckily, there has never actually been a canonically stated length, so bumping up it's "official" size shouldn't be any real issue.
Where was this said or legible on screen?
No you need to scale most of the other hero ships up???

As a proponent of the 450m Enterprise, I'm just going to drop in here to say that ALL the Starfleet vessels need to be scaled up accordingly. I believe some have done internal scalings of Excelsior to show that it needs to be at least in the 600-700m range, which works.

The Ent-D -- as a DEEP space explorer that was originally supposed to be on a 20 year mission -- should definitely be bigger than 600m.

I will be a heretic and avow that Gene Roddenberry didn't know what the frack he was talking about, in re: ship sizes.

Done some Back of the napkin math. At 3 meter decks, you can upscale to 580 meters to make it line up right. At 2.5 meters its closer to 510 meters long. at 4 meters? Sheesh.. 700.

But of course the thing that they don't talk about is that deck height isn't uniform, can be taller in the saucer and shorter in the Engineering hull or vise versa. so measuring length by deck height is just "Best Guess"
