Sadism.
The story behind the picture.
Decades ago I was watching of TNG. My mother comes in and sees Worf on the TV screen and says, "If I had a forehead like that, I'd wear bangs."
A conversation here made me think of it again, so I came up with the above image.
The hair is actually from Chekov.
Truly, the sadist story we can tell.
Okay, the Klingon makeup redesigns have gone TOO damn far.

Worf looks like a Beatnik

Those are actually among the ugliest (pre-STD), and the TWOK costumes are the all-time silliest.
He thinks for some reason that the "T." sounds commanding and authoritative.
Can't imagine why.
The monster maroons from TWOK are the best looking thing Trek has ever done and the only ones that look even remotely believable as uniforms (albeit dress uniforms).

That thing in SNW is just hilariously hideous.
Yeah, Kirk's is way superior. I don't actively dislike it, but it's too dark and too busy.
Pike's looks great. Like his darker gray/black one as well.
