News Exclusive: Scott Bakula Eyeing Star Trek Return In President Archer Series Pitch From ‘Enterprise’ Producer

Of course there will be. Everyone and everything has to be connected nowadays. Fucking annoying as shit, but there we are.

If this happens, I want them to go back to the composer days the show; I know some are old and semi retired now, but some are still "Active" and they know people to recommend, too. I want to vomit all over the place when I see Jeff Russo is scoring another ST series. By himself.

One of the main drivers of the show could be the aftermath of the Earth-Romulan War, which will have taken place a decade or so before Archer's inauguration. Might be a few flashback opportunities for when he was an Admiral. Maybe show the NX-01 refit and a couple of Daedalus-classes in the fleet.

"Sir, the Federation council is thinking of having a new fanfare for the President written. They are even suggesting maybe make it a song."

"...nah. Doesn't sound like a good idea."

I suppose we have to bear in mind that this pitch fell by the wayside and will need a significant boost to get anywhere again.

However, I am loving the deliberate reference to Andor as the type of show this would be like. That could get some attention, if they can get push it.

Evil Overlord Archer from the mirror universe, who sits on a throne of broken phasers and kills people. Just needs some floppy wieners. Big floppy wieners.

I’ve always thought Trek should branch out into other genres beyond a crew on a deep space mission (and to their credit they are with Academy).

So doing a political thriller/West Wing type show set in the Trekverse would be up my alley. My only hang up is it being another prequel.

I wouldn't mind it one bit. But at some point, I'd really like him to say, "Oh, boy."

Then again, I would also really like, just once, to hear a direct-to-patient ad for one of the new prescription psoriasis drugs to invoke the old catchphrase, "the hearbreak of psoriasis."

I wish we can move forward and not have to even deal with the risk of Canon or whatever. I'm kind of tired of the prequels and more Kirk. Give us something new.
The late 22nd century is virtually untouched and has an amazing potential for interesting stories, the likes of which we've never seen the franchise really attempt. I'd say it's full of possibilities for new things.

I would have to say I'm cautiously pessimistic about this one.

I love Andor. It's one of the best (if not the best) Star Wars story to date IMHO. But I don't believe the current Trek people can pull off an "Andor-esque" series in the Star Trek universe without forcing a grimdark version of what always seemed to have been regarded as a bright, exciting time (with the exception of the Romulan war). Also, I just can't see Aw Shucks Archer in something like Andor.

If that's what they are going with, great. I actually wouldn't mind another series in the Enterprise Era because it was a long time between that and Kirk. My issue is more they seem stuck in this prequel era and (I know it's another thread) wanting to do another Kirk type series. Frankly I'm tired of Kirk and just that era. They need to keep things fresh. The fact that SA is trying to keep things fresh is right now the only thing about the series I'm looking forward to.

Fresh. Except that' it 's still Starfleet.

Fresh. Except Klingons.

Fresh. Except Jem-Hadar.

Fresh. Except "Star Trek: Voyager" hologram Doctor.

To quote Bugs bunny: Ain't I a stinker?
