News New episodes of King of the Hill coming to hulu.

I said this on another board, but I think it's worth repeating on regards to the new re-cap trailer: "indicating to fans that the new show has not forgotten its roots and characters. It's well done."

It's lesson most reboots should follow. Also have the original creators involved or don't do anything at all. I dread to see how they are going to ruin "Buffy" soon.

Here's an oldie but a goodie to commemorate the return of both King of the Hill and the (a?) Silver Surfer and the Fantastic Four.

Indeed, the final episode of the original series depicted him bonding with Hank over their shared love of grilling, as well as Bobby excelling at inspecting cuts of meat, leading to him hosting a successful cookout with the entire neighborhood present.

Yep. His talent for cooking also goes back to season 7.

Just finished it. It was pretty good. I like how they make the characters all likeable. Even the assholes still have some charm to them.
Absolute no mention of Luanne. Granted I haven't finished the original run so I don't know her fate there but it seemed odd. I know the voice actress died some time ago but I just assumed they would recast her. They did with Dale.

Their is a wedding photo picture though of her and Lucky on the wall, I noticed. Dale I think is a to popular of a character to leave out of the show and also they have I think 4 episodes with OG actor still doing the voice since he died while making the show.

Two episodes in so maybe this is explained, but where was Bobby living and attending HS during the ten years Hank and Peggy were out of the US? With Dede?

I don't think they were gone that long. I think they moved overseas after he graduated from high school.
Everything I've seen states Hank and Peggy were gone for ten years and that Bobby is now twenty one. So they would have left when Bobby was eleven.

The first show ended in 2010. So if they left ten years ago that would have been in 2015. So that means Hank and Peggy stayed in Arlen for 5 more years after the final episode of the old show. I think that might be enough time for him to graduate from high school.

It's pretty clear, however, that they didn't do a year for year match between when the show ended and now.

I've only seen the first episode so far but really like the way they write Bobby.

He matured so much and started his own business, and then the fact that he's out there working alienates him from other people his age. That girl who slept with him thought it was adorable he started a business instead of going to college, but didn't really want to emotionally connect with him.

I have seen all 10 episodes. Fun show that is very much has same heart and spirit of the old show. I didn't mind Dale's voice change as much as Kahn which was way off and missed the mark. Their is a few characters I am surprised we didn't see like Principle Moss,Enrique,Joe Jack,Donna,Stuart and Emily.

That we didn't see Hank's former co-workers at Strickland isn't that surprising, given he hasn't worked there in years and we rarely, if ever, saw him socialize with them outside of work. Likewise, Bobby and people he only encountered as a result of having to be in class with them.

In fact, this is one thing that I always found superior about KotH to other cartoons like Family Guy and the Simpsons: Characters appeared/reappeared when the story required it, not simply because it was easier/cheaper to use the same character designs and voice actors over and over and shoehorn them into a storyline or gag.
