Stuff they avoided telling us about Han Solo

Han's real last name in Corellio and is the runaway heir the Corellio fortune. His family founded Corellia

I remember reading somewhere on this board before the film came out, someone said something like, "We know Han served in the Empire before A New Hope" and I was like, how do we know that?!?

Same way we know what the little bears on Endor are called. Merchandise!
They never called them Ewoks in the movie? I could have sworn there was at least one scene where someone said they were the Ewoks.

Not in Return of the Jedi. A cursory review of a transcript, they are not identified.

They are listed as Ewoks in the credits, but never identified as such in dialogue in the movie. That was the justification the Story Group tried using a decade ago to change their official name from Ewoks to Endor Natives, until the fan backlash resulted in them sticking with Ewoks.

I tried looking this up since I didn't remember it, and all I found was another post from you.

I remember one of the novels, I think it was the first Aftermath back in 2015 made a point of only referring to the Ewoks as "Endor Natives" and never as "Ewoks." I remember hearing somewhere at the time that was an instruction from the Story Group since "Ewok" was never spoken onscreen in ROTJ and indeed, other Star Wars material released that year did not use the word "Ewok" either. In 2016 the second Aftermath novel did use "Ewoks" though in a rather sloppy manner, it was always written as "Ewoks, the Endor natives," giving the impression it was a last minute adjustment. Finally in 2017 other Star Wars material began using Ewok again.

Did they never see the Ewok TV movies, or watch the "Ewoks" cartoon? Seems a silly thing to try and change at this point.

They seem to have backed off on it because there was an Ewok issue of the Return of the Jedi anthology comic a while back, and an Ewok miniseries called Star Wars: Ewoks.

I'm not sure I'd take anything stylistic in Aftermath as an indication of a larger policy, from the present-tense narration to the coy, who-could-this-be? avoidance of using Jar Jar Binks' name.

That sounds like bullshit to me.
