I remember reading somewhere on this board before the film came out, someone said something like, "We know Han served in the Empire before A New Hope" and I was like, how do we know that?!?
Same way we know what the little bears on Endor are called. Merchandise!

They never called them Ewoks in the movie? I could have sworn there was at least one scene where someone said they were the Ewoks.
