Dune [Part 3] Messiah 2027 (28, 29, 30...)

Google tells me: Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music, Outstanding Visual Effects, and Outstanding Production Design.

There's a separate Emmy for SF&F costumes?

Probably because it gave more normal series no chance to win costume awards.

Looking forward to the reveal scene in Dune Messiah.

Don't know for what, the show fails on every level.

What part could his son possibly play? If he'd been in the second movie, he could have played one of Jamis' kids... oops, they omitted Jamis' wife and kids, so scratch that. Leto II isn't even born until the very end of Dune Messiah, so scratch that. The storyline with Farad'n doesn't happen until Children of Dune and this kid wouldn't be the right age, so scratch that. Feyd is dead, so scratch that.

I give up. Villeneuve must be doing what he does - making shit up and pretending to be "faithful" to the source material when he really isn't anything of the sort.

They're saying it's Leto II, but as you say that doesn't fit with Messiah as written.
So it's some kind of change, maybe a future vision or a leap forward in time at the end.

If that's the case, they're going to have to cast a girl to play Ghanima.

This is just ridiculous. Lynch managed to have child actors for Alia and Jamis' sons. The first miniseries had a child actor to play Alia and the first son Chani bore Paul (the first child-Leto, who was killed by the Harkonnens). Is Villeneuve allergic to children?

"Never work with animals or children."

~W.C. Fields.

I can relate. I used to work backstage in musical theatre. One year we did The King and I. It had both animals and children. Same with Gypsy. We were supposed to have a dog handler for Gypsy, but they never showed. So guess who got stuck giving up their intermission break to take the friggin' dog out for a walk to do its business? (I was head of the properties crew, and the dog was NOT supposed to be my responsibility). I flat-out refused to take responsibility for the rabbit, as I know nothing of how to care for them. So the person who supplied the rabbit had to keep it fed and clean its cage.

The script had originally called for goldfish and a monkey, and I told the director we couldn't have either of those - the goldfish would never survive, and there's no way we would have been able to get a permit for a monkey (or even a monkey, for that matter).

That director had ambitious ideas, but no concept of safety and common sense (FFS, she wanted to use an actual bow and arrow in a Tiger Lily scene and real fireworks in the bomb scene in Peter Pan; thank goodness the fire department refused to let us have a permit for that).

And keeping the kids out of the food... (we had to have real food because some of the actors had to actually eat it). :brickwall:

Smart move avoiding the rabbit. They've got a vicious streak a mile long.
