What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

The Klingons do hate the cold and I understand more reptiles hate the cold. It is possible they might have evolved from reptiles. Though after seeing that monster thing Worf turned into in that one episode I think they might actually be dinosaur cavemen who are self aware.

Imagine if there was a show in one of these massive franchises where on outsider came in to do his own show with the explicit decoration of "I don't care about thing." And not only did his show greatly appeal to long-time fans but drew in a bunch of people who previously had no interest in said franchise.

Now imagine said show was just nominated for the Emmy for Outstanding Dramatic Series but a few hours ago.

That would kinda render this whole discussion moot, wouldn't it?

I want his opinions on it.

Because (Lower Decks, Prodigy, and then Picard) are the most "Self Referential" out of the 3x new shows.
With each further show being a bit less referential to the past.
Well, I’m going to let you, the audience, do the work on that yourself, because I’m tired of getting in circular debates with you.

There’s plenty of evidence around as to how much I care for the shows of the Kurtzman era, and I’m not getting into a purity test over my credentials.

Okay, that's fine.

i tried to get people talking about klingon forehead ridges but nobody partook
The explanation for the Klingons look on Discovery is provided in their final appearance on Enterprise when Dr Aantac predicted that reconstructive surgery was going to become a big thing in the Empire. What the good Doctor couldn't have foreseen was the Klingon people embracing it as a form of body art which resulted in some of the outrageous designs we saw in Discovery. Like most fads, it faded away into obscurity and disappeared all together when a new mutation of the augment virus affected the Klingon Empire during Kirk's 5 year mission.

To be honest, I never noticed that. Next time I rewatch, I'll take note to see if I can see the full range. (In the meantime, if anyone has pics showing the spread, that would be welcome!)
Chancellor Gorkon, the Klingon ambassador, Brigadier Kerla, and Colonel Worf all have pretty prominent ridges. (And Colonel Worf's are similar in shape to Lt. Worf's late-TNG look.)

Gorkon probably looks the most like a typical TNG-era Klingon.

Chancellor Azetbur's ridges are far less prominent. General Chang is pretty close to just looking like a human with a high forehead. Both have less prominent ridges than the half-human K'Ehleyr, and Azetbur's are pretty similar to the half-human B'Elanna Torres.

Are you seriously referencing Andor?

Because while it has a lot of awards, it's also very polarizing since many traditional Star Wars fans found it boring and tuned out.

Big fans, sure. But I'd still argue that they weren't the foaming at the mouth type. Several of those mentioned were known for going, or at least wanting to against the grain of "Traditional Trek."
Which traditional: TOS or TNG? I would argue the latter, because while they wanted to build upon and expand the former, they shook their fists at the latter.
