And just like there are fans of Voyager even though I'm not one, there are fans of newer Star Wars even though you're not one.

The passion is there if you know where to look.
That's true. As for newer Star wars, I don't like that either. I prefer the "six originals".

I can understand that there are people who like the newer Star Trek stuff, let them do it if they want it. SNW is actually quite OK and Prodigy was quite OK despite the cartoonish thing.

But the rest.............well, no! However I haven't watched Section 32 yet.I hope that it's better than PIC.

But what disturb me is that TOS, TNG DS9 and VOY are phased out in some way. There are fewer and fewer books from that era and the authors seem intent to kill off our heroes one by one. The same for PIC and similar series.

I also hate the destruction of two important planets in some of the recent series. Totallly unnecessary and destructive. The same with DSCs stupid Mutant Ninja Turtles Klingons.

All of that because some ego-maniac producers just had to set their mark on the product.

I thought it was cool a year ago meeting someone who had backed the documentary and was getting to attend the showing. Unfortunately, I haven't seen them since the release.
I backed the DS9 documentary and attended the NYC showing. I couldn't muster the same enthusiasm for this one (I did back it but didn't attend a showing), and after having seen it, I'm kind of glad I didn't...though if I'd gotten to meet any of the VOY VIPs, that might have been cool.

I'll redirect the topic; if you donated to the documentary do you regret doing so? I don't but there were a few things that I acknowledge worked against the success of this documentary. Covid restrictions being at the top of the pile. Paramount also seemed to be less supportive for various reasons than with WWLB. The producers struggled with overcoming some of the hurdles and thus with communication to the backers.

I wish I could remember how much I spent on it, because I feel as though I may have spent more than I would have wished I had now that I've seen the documentary. I remain hopeful that the disc will have some special features that will make it feel more worthwhile, but not -that- hopeful.

Certainly, the swag that I got months (years?) earlier is barely worthy of mention, for me.

I think I'm going to end up feeling as though the most I should have spent on this whole endeavor was $50, and I definitely don't feel the documentary in and of itself (at least the digital, no special features) version is worth that much.

I feel like $50 would have been appropriate, but I had to have that damn mug!

I don't mainly because I donated at a $15 level, but if it was over $100 I probably would. My first question would be if this is the most funding campaign for Indigogo, where did all the money go? Also, they should have gotten funding from the organization that runs the Cruise because this doc felt like an ad for the Cruise at points.
