Which TNG episodes were great as horror?

Conspiracy of course because of "that scene"

Night Terrors

Schisms does it for me that episode is just so full of horror vibes. It's a real shame it's so far in the back of the series. I wish they had done this in season 1 or 2 then they might have been able to follow it up. It makes me wonder if this had been going on for a while before "we" get to see the story

Yeah, overlook some technical nitpicks with the episode's ideas on paper... But the presentation, feel and direction of "Genesis" is honestly top notch stuff. (The nitpicks being that's entirely not how evolution works, but it sure is a creative play on it and they sold that well enough, helped immensely by how awesome the direction was.)

Identity Crisis has similar aspects in season 4

The Game has Invasion of The Body Snatchers vibes

The Game could've been a good horror episode in the vain of Invasion of the Body Snatchers (yes, no one is pretending to be someone else, but I mean scary in the same way IotBS is scary). The episode has a smidge of that horror energy at the end, but they really could've gone all out with that and created something great and memorable.

TNG did horror and creepy better than all the other shows. (Not saying the others didn't have good ones, but TNG certainly had more of them. And many were better.)

Some of the TNG horror/creepy episodes...

"Lonely Among Us"
"Conspiracy"
"Where Silence Has Lease"
"The Royale"
"Time Squared"
"Remember Me"
"Night Terrors"
"Identity Crisis"
"Violations"
"Realm Of Fear"
"Schisms"
"Frame of Mind"
"Phantasms"
"Dark Page"
"Masks"
"Eye of the Beholder"
"Genesis"

And a LOT of episodes have B stories or scenes that are also horror filled or creepy. (The woman stuck between decks in "In Theory", the crew acting like 'pod people' from INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS in "The Game", Armus in "Skin Of Evil", the Borg in "Q Who"... the list is almost endless.)

“Night Terrors” and “Schisms” are the only two that really had any scary effect on me back when. Of the two, “Night Terrors” was a far better episode, IMO.

The scene in the makeshift morgue in "Night Terrors" was definitely pretty spooky. But I guess I'd be uneasy if I was in a room full of dead people, period.
