News And the Next Animated Reconstruction is...

I look forward to the day The Dalek’s Masterplan+Mission To The Unknown is done.
Unlikely, as it means a lot of money up-front. The idea has been suggested of doing it as two releases, but the first is unlikely to sell unless the second is guaranteed.

Somebody did a full live-action remake of "Mission to the Unknown" a while back, didn't they? Was that official or a fan project? I thought it was a cool idea, since the story has no characters in common with the rest of the series, so a faithful remake with a different cast could be considered just as valid to series continuity as the original was.

Well, less of a fan project and more of an educational project as it was produced by students of the University of Central Lancashire. As for whether it's considered official or not, well both of these links come from the official Doctor Who channel, so one could draw their own conclusions from that.

It got pulled down pretty quickly but there was a bit of test animation from 'The Smugglers' online briefly. Sadly, it's back to the poor quality 3D style of TCT again.
