Things that frustrate us all

I'm pissed, I get that it's June and the psychiatry has a rule that everyone must take a certain amount leave of absence before July. But I had hoped the paperwork would have been sorted out by then, and there would have been communication about said paperwork.


But noooo! I had meeting with the doctor on May 14th to extend my leave of absence because it was going expire May 31st, this Monday I received a text from my colleague who's also my friend asking if I came back because he saw my name on the shift list. I was like "no, that's not possible." But then I received a mail from my health insurance saying I needed to mail my extension of my leave of absence or face a penalty.

My social worker made several calls, filed the paperwork and it's been extended with a fucking MONTH!!! Which means I have to pay another visit to the doctor for an extension till August!!! But this time I'm going to pester him until I know for certain that the paperwork is actually filed.

Most bars and pubs operate that way (at least, every one that I have ever been to), with an hour before closing time be the last call for food. Which makes sense... gives the kitchen time to prepare any last meals and clean so the place can be mostly ready for the next day by closing time.

Sure. I just meant, that would also prevent those people barging in at the last moment and still expect they can order a full meal.

Or should, at least. You'll always have unreasonable people.
 
Just got my bloodwork results back, and it turns out that in three monts of a doubled estradiol and quartered testosterone blocker dosage, my hormone levels have stayed statistically the same (somewhere along the lower end of the acceptable range of post-menopausal women on HRT). And just to make it better, my next endocrinology appointment is only due in mid-September, so now it's another three months of constant anxiety looking for any signs that my body is re-masculinizing. And with how healthcare is in my country, if I tried to get an appointment with the university hospital assigned based on my address, waiting lists are so long I wouldn't get an appointment there until September either.

ETA: To provide a comforting update, the admin of my local trans self-help group reached out to me and their non-expert opinion is that with one dose being skipped, both my March and June bloodworks measure essentially the same thing, e.g. my hormone levels 12 hours after my last dose, which might be the reason why they're essentially the same numbers, so I should rather concentrate on any physical/psychological changes I can detect in myself as well as the fact that my testosterone level has stayed the same despite my blocker dosage being quartered. At least I can sleep well tonight.

Customers who don't have someone available to come pick them up when they drop their car off for service and spend all day in the lobby.
I don't mind those who sit and wait for an oil change or flat repair, those are usually done in 1hr to 90 minutes; however, if you're bringing in your vehicle for brakes or any type of major repair, arrange to have someone pick you up or have Uber/Lyft get you.
I'm getting tired of the "It's my only vehicle and I don't have a ride home."

Or a good shop will arrange to have courtesy transportation. All the shops I use do any how.

If you don’t mind me asking, why does them waiting there bother you?

(Asking totally out of curiosity, not, for example, as someone who has done that exact thing and didn’t realize it annoyed the staff…)

Some customers like to get up and look in the shop and see how their vehicle is.
Or they go outside and walk into the service bay (which they're not supposed to do) and it is distracting for the technician.
Or they bring their work with them and have conference calls with other people and, like Bob Newhart, you are privy to a one sided conversation.
Or they bring their children, and sometimes, the discipline is lacking, and they let them run around the lobby touching things.

I just play Marbles Netives on my phone, and listen to my music files on my headphones.

probably helps to be around for the inevitable 'erm gov we've found a problem, we've found extra xy and z problem and it's going to cost 200% more'

The shop I take my truck to has a lyft service, they will also pick up my truck and drop it off at no extra charge. It doesn't hurt that the manager and I are good friends but they will do it for most customers in good standing.
 
Hypocrisy
Paul, my coworker, is always telling me when I'm calling to confirm appointments that unless it's an oil change or flat repair, tell the customer that they need to drop off the vehicle. No waiters.
So, what does Paul go and do while I'm doing my callbacks?
Customer walks in and he scheduled her for 8am waiting.
On a car that needs major service on it.
She's going to be sitting in the lobby for most of the day.
And he doesn't have to deal with it because he's M-F, and I'm Tues-Sat.
 
To continue a story from half a year ago from something even weirder I learned while at a comic con today...

If I had a nickel for every time I randomly learned that one of my few remaining close friends who has known for years that I want to try TTRPGs has actually been playing DnD for a while with a different friend group without ever telling me, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird (and really disappointing) that it happened twice.
 
Trying to watch miniature painting vids on YouTube and constantly interrupted by ads for a creepy 28 whatever- after atrocious zombie movie which I will never,never never ever watch.
