Law & Order General Discussion Thread

Peacock Law & Order introduces new words that you've never heard before. And also doesn't cut away when someone gets shot.

Well based on that last OC, if I had to predict the rest of the season....

Grandma, devastated that grandson is dead, goes nuts and takes over the organization. She wants Eli killed, so Elliot has to kill her first.

For next season, SVU has given the boot to

Octavio Pisano (Velasco) and Juliana Aidén Martinez (Silva)

I'm kind of okay with this. SVU has always had a problem with too many characters. Curry is a guest star and hasn't left. Carisi still occupies a lot of the show (not complaining.) And of course, Saint Olivia needs her vast screen time to be insufferable. They usually rotate one character out completely (this week was Bruno).

Unfortunately, I bet that there will be at least one more character shoehorned in and the cycle will begin again.

The CW is airing Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent. Season 1 will air this fall. Season 2 will air eventually.

Kelli Giddish returns to SVU as a regular. So between her, Hargitay and Ice-T's salaries, there will be no more extras and Scanavino can only appear every third episode.

Yea at this rate. It's just so odd. Nothing against Kelli's return for what it's worth.

Anyone still watching OC? What is with Dick Wolf shows that main cast members are required to take episodes off every season to keep the budget down? OC is 10 freaking episodes, a main character left after three episodes and you still have to remove Bell and Reyes for three episodes? Possibly four since next week is a continuation of this week.

Unless they're planning on Christopher Meloni, Jason Patric and Olivia Thirlby to be next year's OC.

does some-one have compromat on the network execs or something?

Haven't seen anything to indicate the OC pulls in solid ratings (so it's possible) but the show seems to have lots of issue behind the scenes so how has it not become a topic for the cancelled shows thread?

TV Line has a poll where you vote for your nine favorites (five cops, four lawyers) across all the shows. Opening credits actors only, so Michael Imperioli is an option but Connie Nielsen isn't. Even the Los Angeles and Trial by Jury casts are listed.

Right now the poll leaders are:

McCoy, Cabot, Barba and Carmichael.

Benson, Briscoe, Stabler, Van Buren and Tutuola.

Callas, Hannah and Ravell are the only ones at 0%. Jeffries, Ross (Danny, not Jamie) and Jaruszalski are barely ahead of them at at 0.05%.

Poll has only been posted for 90 minutes so a lot will change.

Several hours later, the poll is at:

McCoy, Barba, Cabot, Carmichael.

Benson, Briscoe, Stabler, Van Buren, Green.

And every character has gotten at least one vote now.

I was barely following OC when it was on normal cable and once it was moved to streaming, it might as well have been cancelled.

Stabler can't be the single lead of a show and none of the other characters were developed enough for me to care about them. Productions are more concerned with continuing the will they, won't they between Benson and Stabler and no one cares anymore.
