The was some budgetary benefits from the deal with mouse but putting onto a streaming platform for those outside the U.K was probably detrimental to the viewing numbers.

That's not how that works.

In this case, I have much more faith that he left rather than was shoved out the door. Would he have been? Maybe. It’s not the success story it was these days. Even it was, I don’t think it’s serving him much, nor he it. A… parting of the ways, as it were.

If he left before show is cancelled, then he can’t really be said to have been fired. If show is not cancelled, and he left of his own choosing, then not fired. If (as is traditional for the Beeb when there’s trouble afoot, one way or another) his contract was up anyway, and simply not renewed, then not fired. (See: Jeremy Clarkson and possibly Gary Lineker)

That doesn't mean you've been fired, which is the accusation.

What's really hilarious about it is that 10 seconds of Googling would have shown them that (if he is leaving) he shot his regeneration back in February when they did a week of extra shooting nine months after S2/15 wrapped.
