NFL 2025: A new era dawns?

I'm glad it got done as soon as it did. Hated for this to go into Training Camp. I think he deserves it and congrats on the extension. People continue to underestimate him, kinda like how people underestimated Young after Montana. He still has a lot to prove but it's been fun so far.

NFL makes it okay for their players to play flag football in the Olympics.... but do you want your player to play? Remember the running back whose career ended after one season because he got hurt playing beach football in the pro bowl?

Robert Edwards* of the Patriots. Shredded his knee to the point of almost having it amputated.

*I didn't remember his name, had looked it up earlier for a discussion elsewhere.

Here's a better picture of Cage as Madden.

Looks like Cage in a fatsuit to me.

The Olympic pride players feel playing volleyball or hockey or basketball (although maybe Team USA doesn't care in basketball) just wouldn't be the same thing. The NFL players wouldn't even be playing football, they'd be playing flag football. I think it would mean more for the current flag football players to play in the Olympics. And one of them getting hurt playing in the Olympics would sure be a lot different than Patrick Mahomes or Justin Jefferson getting hurt.

They should be using high school or JUCO kids. Help expand the horizons of those who will likely never be in the NFL. Nope. The NFL has to be everywhere.

There are already "pro" flag football players. One player caused a lot of headlines by saying that Patrick Mahomes is a better QB but isn't a better flag football QB than him.

They could probably pull Barry Sanders out of retirement, and he would run rings around anyone the rest of the world could put out there.

Team USA starting 5...

Lamar Jackson - QB
Tyreek Hill - WR
Ja'marr Chase - WR
CeeDee Lamb - WR
Jalen Ramsey - CB

IFAF World Junior Championship Football. Every country sends their best players.... except the USA. You don't get pro players or Division I players on Team USA. You get players in lower levels and they will get smacked around by Japan and Canada.

And? The reason the USA gets smacked around isn’t because of talent, it is because we no longer play as a team.

Me, me, me culture getting exposed.

Yep. Happened with the Redskins with Jack Kent Cooke (and never really recovered) as well as the Broncos with Pat Bowlen more recently. It’s almost guaranteed to affect any team negatively in a very big way. :(

The Seahawks seemed to do okay after Paul Allen's passing. They still made the playoffs and had a winning record. Pete Carroll and John Schneider did most of the work anyway. The real test will come once Paul Allen's sister decides to sell the team.

Jodi Allen likely has a lot more fluid funds vs. the Irsay daughters. I think their family wealth is mostly derived from the Colts. Wonder if Irsay had the foresight to set something up to mitigate the tax bill they will be facing?

The stadium lease runs until 2034. Though I wonder how iron clad it is?
