I have trouble calling Indy 1-3 a trilogy, since they are three separate stories. There is no through line. Yeah they feature the same character so they meet the broader definition of a trilogy, but not in the same way as BTTF or LOTR.

I was in ninth grade when BTTF came out. I saw it 13 times in the theater.

10 years after the future version of BTTF, do you guys think our current world tech is more or less of a disappointment?

And I could definitely do without the flying cars. If those existed IRL, it would scare the bejeezus out of me. Those damn things could come crashing down on your house at any time!

Nah not disappointed. I could never figure out how to skate board let alone a hover board.
We do have apple vision pro now almost like what Marty's kids where using at their homes.
The door with fingerprint recognition could easily of been a thing, as we had it on our phones and laptops for years now.
I can't find a link right now but they actually were trying that like a decade ago, with supercooled semi-conductors having an anti-gravity effect over a ceramic path.
Dunno why they stopped experimenting though. Like how they hyped up graphene as the next big thing that went nowhere, mass applications were very limited.

I happened to stumble across the 'Making of' book at my local bookstore last week and I flipped through it. According to the text, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale actually had an idea about turning 'Back to the Future' into a Broadway show; when they found out that there was a theater in London's West End that wanted to do the same thing, they flew out, and after observing the rehearsals, gave their stamp of approval.
