Spoilers Andor - Season 2

I guess Wilmon and Saw aren't BFFs anymore since Wilmon's apparently very much alive yet no one mentions him in Rogue as a way to get through to Saw.
They're also video conferencing with Saw about a day before they need the ridiculous hail mary of finding and rescuing Jyn because she's "the only way to safely" get to Saw. Hmmm.

Perrin, you absolute dog! I'm not sure who I should be disappointed in more, honestly!

Oh right, some other stuff happened too, didn't it? Well what can one really say; it was perfect!
The Luthen episode was wonderful; I liked how they gave you a glimpse at his and Kleya's backstory, but only a glimpse. Enough to understand the emotional dimension and complexity of it, but not overburdened with details. Complex hardly seems to be an adequate word for what is clearly a love/hate relationship in equal measure and ferocity. It's fascinating that in hindsight Kleya was actually the driving force behind all of that. It was her fire and rage and his guilt that kept him pushing forwards.

I appreciate that they got all of the action out of the way in the second episode, saving the last as a reflective denouement before leading directly back into 'Rogue One'. The K-2 corridor fight did not disappoint! Oh and for those that can't read aurebesh; the hospital was named "Lina So", which is the Chancellor of the Republic during the High Republic books (phases 1 & 3.) Did not expect a High Republic reference in Andor, but then I also didn't expect a tooka being taken for a walk, a new kalikori in the gallery, much more similar to Hera's, or a visit to Naboo (?) There's a certain poetry to that; the planet where this all began, the Emperor's own homeworld is where Luthen and Kleya struck first.

I had a feeling the final shot would be of Bix & Bee back together; I didn't see the baby coming though! If it's a boy, she definitely named him Brasso. If it's a girl it's even money between Kerri or Maarva. I think the former would be more poetic, especially since the show reminded us of her in the final episode.

Gotta admit, I didn't love the last episode.

Way back when they said the finale would segue right into Rogue One, I got a little anxious.

And my fears were confirmed by how they handled it. So much of the last episode was just table setting, just moving the pieces into place and checking off boxes.

And it also gave us a recap/preview of some of Rogue One's most frustrating elements, specifically the members of the Rebellion being needlessly obtuse jackasses. While Mon just kinda sits there passively throughout it all despite the fact that she knew Luthen better than anyone.

There's just too much box checking here. Let's see Raddus! Let's see Cassian put his jacket on. Let's check in with the Alliance Council of Idiots.

They could have ended the show any way they wanted to. They could have ended it weeks or months or, hell, a year before Rogue One.

I still think the show is an incredible achievement and the best SW arguably of all time. I enjoyed 10 and 11, but 12 may go down as my least favorite installment.

This may just be me, but the scene of Partagaz listening to Nammick's manifesto while awaiting to be taken away for (presumably) execution may be the most emotionally charged of the whole show. Honestly, in those final moments before he ate his own blaster, I think Nammick may have made him a believer.
I was beyond delighted to see the return of the manifesto and to see that it had take on such significance.

Oh, there's a small goof in the final arc where the characters include Scarif in the discussions about the Death Star alongside Krennic, Eadu and Galen Erso.

Uh, Scarif had literally nothing to do with the development of the Death Star. It was literally just a records library full of all kinds of Imperial info/intel.

Galen's message indicates that there's a copy of the plans at Scarif, but that's really just for record-keeping purposes, not because any actual Death Star work was done on the premises.

My guess is the emperor had summoned him to "explain" himself about the epic cock up.

Lio obviously knew explain himself = die horrifically or being tossed to vader to play with. Eating your blaster likely seemed a good idea at that point!

I was going to make a joke about the baby being Poe Dameron, but people on social media are already doing it..... and not as a joke. They actually want the baby to be Poe Dameron and are going to riot if it isn't! Their view of Star Wars has become Filonied.

He was a professional.

Plus of the generation of Yularn, tarkin who saw the old republic for its very worse qualities of chaos, lawlessness, corruption and political incompetence.
People keep talking about wanting to see Palps or Vader show up, but I was hoping we'd see Yularen again, even if only for a quick pop-in.

Damn, i needed a breather after this final chapter.

We all knew Luthen wouldn't make it, he knew he would die violently and badly and when it happened, despite being the ruthless bastard that he was ( killing his plant in the ISB to get him to talk when he lied to his face), it still made me sad. And then we get his backstory with Kleya, making the second episode so tense but also heartbreaking when she sets off on a one woman show to infiltrate a highly secure imperial site to make sure Luthen won't recover and spill all his secrets.

The second episode just ramps up as both sides race to rescue/arrest Kleya with K2 saving Andor's behind in a display of why Droids built for combat are absolutely terrifying.

Third episode was "just" moving the pieces together to have everybody end up where they need to be to lead into Rogue One - the entire show was always leading up to this point and it's both heartbreaking and glorious to know what happens next.

However Gilroy, that brilliant bastard asshole, has one final knife to the heart and he even twists it with the final scene of Bix cradling their baby waiting for him to return and we know he won't! :(

I have said it many times - this and Rogue One is for me peak Disney era Star Wars. I doubt anything will ever come close to this and i'm glad we got it.

Must everything always devolve into nonsense factionalization? Don't actually answer that; it's a rhetorical question. Just know that this statement is silly on the face of it.

Not to split hairs, but it was a moderately and hastily guarded floor of a private hospital that was still otherwise teeming with civillians, and the marshals were left basically leaderless when the supervising officer was arrested and taken away. Not saying it was easy, but it's not like she broke into the Imperial Palace or something.
Dedra could survive until the New Republic, possibly have her case reviewed. There's a nonzero chance she could get paroled, assuming she survives.
She was an unrepentant ISB supervisor, not some random trooper or tech. The best she could hope for in that scenario would be a relocation to a more humane penal colony for the rest of her life. Even general amnesties don't usually apply to the fallen regime's secret police, even those already thrown into a gulag for incompetence.
Honestly, I'm not sure her ego could survive the 4-5 years of staring at that floor every night. One way or another, she's done.

I was thinking Rey’s mum but the ages don’t work. :)
