No, you're 100% wrong. I said it was a backdoor pilot, I was right. I didn't say it was going to be picked up. You can read back easily. Please improve your reading skills before responding to me.
Except it wasn't a back door pilot. The movie was made after they decided not to make the series and after at least five scripts were written for season 1 of this series that was never going to be made.

To believe the film was still a back door pilot is factually incorrect.

Actually, they had the complete season of 10 episodes worth of scripts written.

An episode like Assignment: Earth is a backdoor pilot, because it establishes and focuses on new characters and settings within the wrapper of the mothership series. Hence the use of "backdoor."

Section 31 is a reworking of material into a standalone film.

Just rewatched it. The first time, I was so offended by how bad it was, I decided I can't make it through it without a sufficient amount of alcohol, relatively early in.

So I wanted to watch it again, this time with a clear head, and after having rewatched DSC up to Terra Firma.

The movie is still bad. Easily the by far worst production that was ever released under the label "Star Trek", imo.

2 out of 10 ... 1 point for Yeoh, 1 point for f/x. And that's being generous.

Implying that Sim has mental problems because they were irritated by a TV movie indicates deeper issues that have nothing to do with Star Trek.
Oh, you have no idea. And it wasn't "irritated", it was "offended". Two words that have entirely different meanings. Being irritated as akin to having a itch on the bottom of your foot that you can't scratch because you're driving. It's okay to be irritated by a TV show. But "offended"? Pure melodrama.

Omg, you are really an inch pincher, are you?

Of course I was not literally "offended". Cut me some slack, English is not my first language. I think it should have been easy to gather as much from the context of my posting.

adjective. feeling or expressing hurt, indignation, or irritation because of a perceived wrong or insult.

Sounds about right?

Either way, my real point was that Sim expressed displeasure about a movie. Hardly worthy of implying that there might be something wrong with him.

Peace! ;)

Reactions: Sim
“Insult someone‘s intelligence” is a common enough idiom, and people who use it are generally not saying they are literally insulted/offended, just that they feel treated as though they are stupid. Or, in the context of a piece of media, that it doesn‘t feel intelligent enough. So let‘s not start saying people have “deeper issues” just because they use a phrase like that to voice their displeasure with a movie.
