I've asked customers before if they're related to someone I went to school with because the last name rings a bell. Occasionally, I've met the parents or siblings of someone I knew. Just last week, I met the niece, through marriage, of my elementary school librarian.​

I used to work retail. They say kids today are entitled brats. Well, I've seen seniors act more entitled than kids. Hell, I've been complained about so many times due to the fact that I cannot make eye contact whatsoever due to the fact that I have lazy eyes.

I did retail 11 years and adults are far more entitled in their behaviors. Kids just reflect what they're modeled.


On my mind is a quirk I've noticed about myself for about 20 years or so but it's creeping in to my awareness more and more. I do not care to watch or read something that is described as the "greatest thing ever." One, I know it's completely disingenuous marketing talk because next week will be some other great thing. Two, the greatness is used to bludgeon other things for not being as great.

I don't have time for this nonsense. If something is good just say " it's good." No qualifiers, no ridiculous comparison game, no insulting other products for daring to be different.

Just...no thank you.

Speaking of which in the UK TV show called A & E Emergency and just Emergency here in Australia why the hell would you watch such a show where an ED has basically become entertainment for the masses. I don't get the appeal

Maybe Doc Martin can be paired with Doc Martens, which is about a boot, shoe and sandal company.

Doc has an interesting premise. The lead character is in an accident and has forgotten the last several years of her life but is still a capable doctor, even if she's several years behind in the latest technology and discoveries. However, the American version (it's based on an Italian series that's based on a true story, although neither show is based on the actual person's life) basically sped run her back to full practicing doctor.

I may have to get a new pair of Bose Quietcomfort noise cancelling headphones soon. I have had my current pair, Bose Quietcomfort 45, for a little over several years, and the effectiveness of the noise cancelling is fading. Plus, the faux leather that is on the ear cuffs has been falling off/apart for awhile.

I've heard they've now come out with Bose Quietcomfort and Bose Quietcomfort Ultra.

But she cancelled due not being able to sleep that night, and I was like I've been awake since 4 am? Do you think I'm not sleep deprived either? Fucking wimp. I wonder ... why are so many streaming shows today, which are not supposed to be shown on silver screens, but on tv screens and/or mobile devices so often filmed in 2:1 or even movie-style 2.35:1 format, rather than 16:9, which would enable the large majority of viewers to enjoy them without letterboxing?

Is it for saving streaming bandwidth?

I don't buy "aesthetic reasons". You don't get "immersion" on a tv screen by putting anything in a letterbox. Do they really think people are so stupid they think something looks "cineatic" just because it's letterboxed?

Back home from a weekend at Mom's. That 3 hour drive gets longer and longer. Now it's more like 3.5 hrs, even though they raised the speed limit. She's 91 but still seems pretty sharp.
