Just a reminder this dialogue and exchange actually happened in Andor Season 1, and it's just one of the many reasons I love this series. This is one well-written show and Tony Gilroy crafted it to be as mundane and realistic in language as possible.
I wonder if it would’ve made a difference if Syril had seen what happened and knew that his boss was 100% correct that they were dirty cops who got themselves killed trying to extort someone. Would he have been radicalized in the opposite direction if they were the ones to shatter his illusions about the glorious mission of corporate security, or would he have sided with them that Cassian was eyeballing them and needed to be put in his place, ignoring that they were already doing three illegal things when they first saw him.
Didn't see that one coming.
No, I shouldn't think so. Syril was already extremely tightly wound and officious to a fanatical degree. This incident didn't radicalise him, it just gave him an outlet to flex his meagre authority and satisfy his ego. No matter what they did, in his eyes Cassian would still be a murderous cop-killer, and Syril's type neither can nor will let ever that slide under any circumstances.
Regardless, it's not like his boss is making entirely wild and lucky guesses. Syril does know they were in a place that's not supposed to exist, doing things they're not allowed to do. We know this because we see him bring in the madam to ID Cassian's hologram. Clearly he doesn't care.

Did it fail? Wikipedia seems to indicate that it did quite well in ratings, viewer response and critical response.

Carlton Cuse, who worked a writer/EP on Lost, and created Bates Motel, Colony, Jack Ryan, and a bunch of other shows, is developing a streaming series with his son Nick. I've liked most of the stuff I've seen that he's worked on, so I'm optimistic about this.
