Just curious why everyone on Edo looks young.

(Other potential poll questions: Why are they all so attractive? Why are they all Aryan? And who keeps the economy going?)

There's some serious population rigging going on by that "God" of theirs. If their only penal measure is death, this ain't so much a race of people as it is an experiment. You can't get much more micromanaged than that. Eliminating the aging, bioengineering their look... These all seem easily possible within that kind of dynamic.

It may be as simple (and "Hollywood shallow") as no one wanting to put old people in those costumes. ;)

"Logan's Run" comes to mind, only without the runner guards and the lying computer running it all, and what they all die from by age 30 is probably cooties-related due to some form of genetic/bioengineering like what @Mojochi thought about, hence the nonchanging look and the lack of need to have guards going pew-pew everywhere. (Definitely not cooties.) The Edo just accept it for what it is and go back to the massage oil and what might otherwise be called "joysticks" if the double entendre wasn't so single entendre in this case.

What sort of economy did the Logan's Run society have? Are they always the same? Human history has developed several types of economies over the centuries, each generally superseding the predecessor for increased flexibility.

And yet, the Edo god thing considers the Edo its children. When did the thing get there? What made it think of the Edo as its kids? We really don't get a backstory and there's no need for one, though "Conundrum" could have gone there along with the effects reuse unaltered as well.

To compare, I rescued a cat, so does that make me the big magical thing from the cat's point of view? So that could be the backstory, the multidimensional god thing was strolling through the universe one day, saw these fritters purring on the planet while they were oiling up, thought they were cute, and fed them treats from a bag while avoiding the other question of "Do I spay and neuter them?", I'd guess. I doubt my first two paragraphs are anything except "overthinking the script", but I won't remove them as it does beg questions from that dystopian flick from 1976, only without Carousel and the shoot'em'uppers.

First off, the people of Edo in "Justice" were called the Edo. "Edosian" is the term generally used these days for Lt. Arex's species (though it was originally "Edoan" in offscreen materials).

As for their ages, there are animal species that don't visibly show signs of aging as they get old, so it's possible the same could go for the Edo. Or, heck, maybe they're immortal, aside from punishment zone-related attrition.

That analogy could be dead on. Who keeps the house cats’ economy going? Not the house cats.
