Having heard more deets about it, it’s apparently shorter than I thought and not a “here’s the first ten minutes of the movie” kind of thing, but I still think I’m gonna pass. I am more than ready for the next proper trailer, though.I debated shortly with myself, but ultimately watched the "Sneak Peek" that went online and is embedded above. It is pretty much spoiler-free, as it shows only the full version of Krypto dragging Superman to the Fortress as seen in the teaser, as well as the Fortress robots attending to his injuries, then it goes into an extended version of the rest of the teaser trailer.
Why are you best friends with a soulless monster?Krypto is a real sticking point for him.
He was getting blasted with a massive amount of sunlight and it was healing what appeared to be some pretty serious injuries, makes perfect sense to me that that would hurt like hell.> Be Superman

I guess it humanizes him, but I personally don't like superheroes being humanized. They are larger than life, that's how they should be.He was getting blasted with a massive amount of sunlight and it was healing what appeared to be some pretty serious injuries, makes perfect sense to me that that would hurt like hell.
Super-heroes have been "humanized" since the Golden Age and they got even more "humanized" in the Silver Age.I guess it humanizes him, but I personally don't like superheroes being humanized. They are larger than life, that's how they should be.
Sorry I wasn't clear, I was meaning in the movies. Maybe I got spoiled by Smallville KEK.Super-heroes have been "humanized" since the Golden Age and they got even more "humanized" in the Silver Age.
Oh that's not the issue. I was pointing out Superman or Wonder Woman etc should be insanely powerful, and they shouldn't be shown getting beat up on screen!Clark's humanity is what humanizes him.![]()
So you like 45 second long movies?Sorry I wasn't clear, I was meaning in the movies. Maybe I got spoiled by Smallville KEK.

No.So you like 45 second long movies?
Not terrible, but not good either. Same thing we've seen in all Superman movies.I really cannot make my mind about that sneak peek - great? Terrible?
Will have to see it i context I guess.
Somewhere people are calling Gunn's take "campy" and he's taken that up. Though I haven't seen any thing campy, myself. It's mostly playing it straight.
OTOH, he's thrilled by the FF trailer. Loves the retro-futurism. (I like it too).

And Kryptonite is what Kryptonizes him.Clark's humanity is what humanizes him.![]()
Completely disagree, if you want people to actually give a shit, a hero, even one like Superman, needs to be hurt and struggle at least sometimes. A hero who is never hurt and never struggles with anything is boring as hell and no one is going to care about them.Sorry I wasn't clear, I was meaning in the movies. Maybe I got spoiled by Smallville KEK.

Superman got hurt all the time in the comics, he even died. He's incredibly strong and invulnerable to some stuff like the vacuum of space or fire or radiation. But if something is big enough or strong enough he can be hurt. But the whole point of the character is that he keeps fighting even to the death.
We've had heroes "struggling" for years in CBMs. That is what bores me. I want Superman to be absolutely untouchable unless it's a big villain like Brainiac, Darkseid or Metallo.Completely disagree, if you want people to actually give a shit, a hero, even one like Superman, needs to be hurt and struggle at least sometimes. A hero who is never hurt and never struggles with anything is boring as hell and no one is going to care about them.
The point you made that he even died - yes, he did, at the hands of an unstoppable beast from the stars, not Luthor or a human enemy.Superman got hurt all the time in the comics, he even died. Yup, last 50 years or so all the heroes got severely nerfed.ST1701 is advocating for Silver Age comics when Superman was very rarely seriously hurt. It's a valid take, but in my lifetime of 50 years reading Superman he's always had to take a beating or be put in danger.
