News Alec Baldwin Accidentally Shoots & Kills Cinematographer, Wounds Director with Prop Gun

Everyone who handles a gun should check whether it is loaded or not. It’s just basic gun safety.

I bet if a republican had accidentally shot someone, everyone would be screaming for his blood.

He'll always be the best Jack Ryan.
Respectfully disagree. I love Red October, it's easily the best of the Jack Ryan movies, but John Krasinski is "my Ryan." Although when reading the novels, I actually imagine Ryan speaking Chris Pine's voice.

Oh, sorry. We should probably get back to debating whether Alec Baldwin should be held accountable for something he was already cleared of in court.

As someone who has actually worked on a film set, thats NOT how it works.........the armorer hands you a loaded weapon.....you swap it for the hero prop.....it IS LOADED.....just with blanks......you do not fuck with it.......you trust that person has done their job properly and you press on with the scene. You do not open the cylinder or pop out the clip to check the bullets.........:brickwall::brickwall:

Full disclosure, Krasinski is the only one I've never seen. I quite liked Pine though.

It's not his job to check the gun.
legally, Alec has no responsibility. But in an interview w/ CBS, the interview show a video of Geroge Clooney checking the gun in front of others at a set.

The bottom line is, no actors or anyone else for that matter, who rehearse a scene should pt. a gun to another person. Even if it's a prop gun. AT CNN there is an interview just after the above incident that even prop gun can kill people

A little over 40 years ago a prop gun accidentally killed Jon-Erik Hexum.

True. One more fuck-up in a whole pile of them. And the only truly safe prop gun is one that is utterly inert, e.g., a solid silicone rubber casting of a gun.

This is what I meant.

Rule 1: Always treat a gun as if was loaded
Rule 2: Always point the muzzle in a safe direction

Before you even pick up a gun, you should have whoever is handing the gun to you prove it is unloaded.
If you are picking up the gun yourself, you should always check to see if it is loaded.
If you do not know how to check it, ask someone.

I agree that Baldwin is partially responsible for the death. The fact that the prosecutor f**ked it up, does not relieve him of that responsibility.

I am sure this was devastating to him, but not as much as the family of the victim.
