William Shatner Confirms Talks for Star Trek Return at 93 Years Old

Disco is canon and the people who insist otherwise are just edgelords looking for attention or people who think they are funny trying to be humorous.

But the joke is funny! Well depending on how you tell it or present it of course. Because like they say. "It's funny because it's true." :)

After Paramount is bought out, Discovery's going to be the ONLY show that's canon and all the other shows and movies not only aren't canon, they were never canon. :guffaw:

SF DEBRIS: To who? It's a joke so bad you had to explain it twice.

It's funny because the logic of how it stopped being canon is funny.

Actually we all know STAR TREK:ORVILLE will be the last one standing. That and the Section 31 movie. We all know this is true!

I have a sneaking suspicion that SNW is going to end at season 4, and SFA might make it to a second season. But I don’t think anyone is going to declare anything ‘non-canon’ anytime soon.

While Paramount always strived to keep the stories created for the older shows consistent with our newer content as well as internally consistent, Kurtzman always made it clear that he was not beholden to Trek produced before his arrival. He set the works he created as the canon. This includes Star Trek: Section 31, and the many hours of content he developed and produced in Star Trek: Discovery. These stories are the immovable objects of Star Trek history, the characters and events to which all other tales must align.

;)

I'm still thinking SNW goes 5 (to make it a true five-year mission, get home, hand over to Kirk and Pike goes off to his fate as a permanent Fleet Captain) and SFA, maybe 2, since they're already apparently planning the second season, aren't they?

There has to be some time jumping then because they're not doing the 1 season equals a year thing anymore. Hegemony was still set in 2259, and presumably at the least the season 3 premiere will also be in 2259. Even if Memory Alpha is wrong and we're in 2260 or even 2261, that's still a ways off from 2265.

They're already in production on season 2, IIRC.

So Young Indiana Jones isn't and never was canon too right?
Honestly don't know or care, Indiana Jones isn't something I've ever been a fan of. In fact the only movie I've seen is Crystal Skull, which didn't impress me enough to continue on.

And before anyone asks why I bothered to see Crystal Skull, it was at a time where I would go to a theatre and see a movie just because I liked going to the theatre.

You've never seen Raiders?

I think they will get a season 5 but they will also go into it knowing it will be the final season. Of course they won't declare it non-canon. That is because people like the show to much. I am still hoping they declare it non-canon themselves. I have been rooting for the idea that Kirk dies and Pike lives and we found out this has been set in a alternate timeline for awhile now. It would be a nice unexpected twist. Twist to everyone I suppose except to me since I am talking about it. In theory this could also to starting point for new Trek adventures taking place in this new universe that will develop it's own brand new continuity.

That's right Kirk: screw you!

SFA was already renewed for a second season while SFA S1 was filming.

You seem to always believe that Paramount is suddenly going to stop greenlit Star Trek productions at the drop of a hat.

Yes neither one may get renewed for a 5th or 3rd season, but SFA S2 will get made because Paramount knows if it abandons streaming it can still sell SFA to another company.

I just had a crazy idea - what if it isn't Kirk who appears, but Shatner?

Picture this: Shatner the actor goes up in space, like he actually did, and somehow accidentally winds up in the Star Trek universe. They think he's Kirk, but he's not, and he gets to be involved in a mission, perhaps pretending to be Kirk to fool someone, before they send him back (mind-wiped or not) quick enough that he's not missed.
I can see SNW adapting Visit to a Weird Planet, Revisited in some fashion. They did a musical episode, they're not afraid to wreck the 4th wall.
