Does anyone else have the thought whenever you see one of those silver Cybertrucks

I have heard that they are amazing to drive.

I could never say that about the Pontiac Aztek.

About the only good thing about them is that they make good fodder for cartoonists. Stephan Pastis has done at least one Pearls Before Swine (February 7, 2025) and Bill Amend has done at least one FoxTrot (July 14, 2024).

The newest bumper sticker on my 2018 Nissan Leaf reads
NOT a Tesla
And DAMN PROUD of it

Tesla - unsafe at any speed?

That's what you get if you use cheap-ass cameras instead of LiDAR, it seems.

Here is the original Mark Rober video, which is one of the best-crafted I have ever watched on YouTube. Highly recommended.

That's a fascinating video. I didn't even realize Teslas used cameras instead of LiDAR. I remember the earlier testing for Tesla's autopilot had lots of collisions, and I guess that explains why. It would also be interesting to see a test featuring whiteout conditions during a winter storm.

Tesla's kill motorcyclists..

It's because Musk is a sleazy cheap and uncaring (beep!), radar, which they used to have is expensive, so is LIDAR, it's in the way of profit so he doesn't care at all if people die because he is using cheap garbage instead of working tech.
Also, autopilot shuts down one second before impact so they can't pin it on the system so guess who's screwed then?

One second before impact. Jesus fucking Christ. Surely it's still the fault of the device even if it does shut down one second before impact?? If not, that's just absurd.

Until three or four months ago, the things were status symbols in MoCo, Maryland. Probably because they were the most attention-grabbing EV you could own. Don't know about now.

I guess it's some law thingy, the law can't keep up with the pace technology evolves so I assume it's something like: It hasn't crashed the car because it wasn't in control/driving it when it crashed.

I am not a huge fan of Tesla or the Cybertruck in general. The designs don't look all that great. The display of your speed and such is not right in front of the Steering wheel where it should be. I just think the whole design of Teslas, and the Cybertruck as a whole is pretty awfully designed.
