There was an article discussing tv shows that were before their time and this was the image that was used for Star Trek. The movie ships mixed in. And poor Chekov looks like the Ceti eel is now under the skin of his forehead!

Surely it just means it wasn't made by the AIs we have access to. Copyright holders must have ones that aren't blocked from their copyrighted imagery. In my experience, if you see a recognisable spaceship in an image, it probably wasn't generated by AI. But whatever the process was here, it was not kind to the Enterprise's nacelles.

Apparently by someone named Uebelator on deviantart. The upload date of 2017 is also pretty conclusive evidence that this was created before the widespread availability of AI image generation.Who created this, I wonder?
What . . . the actual . . . frig???For reference, here are some actual AI generated TOS posters. There’s definitely models out there capable of producing more convincing results, but usually this is what I would have in mind when I hear the phrase “AI slop”.

Oh - there's a pic of Kirstie Alley going around on FB. It's very convincing, but she's wearing some kind of Trek leisurewear, like a robe with a badge, that's never been seen before; and her face is way too perfectly rendered and just a little distorted. But half the people who see it think it's some lost publicity shot that's never been seen.
Bowling alley service staff.Loving the purple tos style uniform. What division of starfleet could that be?
Yeah, although many of the uniforms curiously look like Kelvinverse uniforms with the black undershirt.Interesting how nearly every model got the uniforms semi-close. Including some hair helmets.

I too thought this might be the image @Forbin is referring to, but then I found this one, which is the more likely candidate, because this one is definitely AI generated.I think I know the one you're talking about. I found a copy that had an agency credit, and another one posted eight years ago, long before anything remotely of that quality was possible using generative AI. Plus, it's the outfit she was wearing in the turbolift scene.
Those are awful. Seeing Captain Mal up there in the middle amused me, I should do one with the Serenity crew in gold, red and blue. (Imagines Simon Tam in sickbay waving Feinberger's salt shakers at River while she imitates Dr. Van Gelder)For reference, here are some actual AI generated TOS posters. AI is weird in the way it combines images it finds on the Internet. You can see hints of various actors in the faces it creates. Stewart and Nimoy seem to be popular sources. Perhaps because their images are more common than others on the web.For reference, here are some actual AI generated TOS posters.
