Picard (series) did Elnor and Laris dirty!

More like one season and one episode romance, given how she's never heard of or mentioned again once season 3 gets going because CRUSHER! WE'VE GOT CRUSHER HERE!... epic indeed

Why, though? They could have worked around this sort of thing - just say he's off somewhere doing whatever. There was no need to kill off the character.
Good point. I was just addressing why they didn't give him a heroic on-screen death.
They needed to remove him as an obstacle to Picard and Laris' epic two-season romance.
They could have acknowledged Chabon's S1 notes which said Romulan marriages involved three partners. Indeed, when Chabon first posted that online, many of us naturally assumed Picard was meant to be the third partner in Laris and Zhaban's marriage.

I'm really hoping Elnor at least serves with Captain Seven in a series or movie.

I also find it bonkers that in a TNG sequel dealing so heavily with Romulans and wounds of the past, Sela wasn't even mentioned.

Season 1: The season ended with our 7 protagonists aboard the La Sirena ready for new adventures. This included Picard, Rios, Raffi, Jurrati, Seven, Elnor, and Soji.
Season 2:
Everyone returns for Season 2. Soji just makes a cameo in the first episode, but the actress got to play a new Soong daughter (Kore) for the rest of the season. Elnor is written out in the third episode, but he has cameos sprinkled throughout the season with a fun though brief role in the 9th episode. Rios, Jurrati, and Kore Soong got various send-offs. Also, Laris who had a small role in the opening episodes of S1 bookends S2 as a romantic interest for Picard (her husband died off screen), and spends most of S2 as Tallinn, a Laris look-alike.
Season 3:
Picard, Seven, and Raffi return. Where is Elnor? Why is Laris not in the finale?

I love the show, but is it me, or did Elnor and Laris get the shaft? I feel like both were "put on a bus" and forgotten.

Im kind of glad they were both given the shaft. They were both boring characters. I would much rather have seen the legacy characters. Exactly what we got in season 3.

I love season 2 of Picard, it brought a lot of good stuff to the table and was very fun. It's a shame they never really made a third season, took some of the original ideas from season 2 and integrated them into a nice cohesive wrap up. The three seasons together could have told a nice big story together.

Just judging by the similar visuals Im currently running with the headcanon the Aetherians opened the portal to try and deal with some alternate timeline Borg they detected. Jurati's ship then sacrificed itself to seal their portal setting them back a decade and Jurati's collective integrated into the Co-operative and maybe some joined Starfleet. Seven's commission helping to alleviate the anti former Borg prejudice.

Not really bothered. The characters on Picard S1 and 2 didn’t do a lot for me. I liked Seven, but I’ve always have since voyager.
Q was fine, Liked how he felt dangerous at first anyway.
Rios was oks
Raffi got on my nerves the first two seasons. But improved when she got paired up with Worf.

I don't know, but a character with a sword like Elnor is really hard to integrate into Star Trek as a story. He's more Star Wars type character than Star Trek. If only he has another trait as a character, like Worf, then Elnor will have more purpose in the story.

For Laris, to be honest, they killed her husband off screen in between season 1 and 2, just to pair her with Picard. I think their relation is a bit forced in season 2.

For me, the character that I want to stay in Picard until the end is not Elnor or Laris, but the captain.Rios. He give me the feeling that he's a capable space man. Fit into any Star Trek story that he's in. It's a pity that they killed his character by left him behind in 21st century.

I felt much the same way. Yes, the series did Elnor and Laris wrong by basically "putting them on a bus" at the start of season 3. But IMHO they were so poorly written that I barely noticed they were gone.

There was a Stargazer spin-off right there. I'd have retconned the registry and made it 2893-A or 2893-B if we want to keep the Intrepid class one as well. But it was all there, a nice looking ship, a name that works Star Trek: Stargazer and a handsome hairy captain. That third one's not entirely essential but it's a nice bonus.

Agreed.

Guess it was a means to end to get a TNG reunion out of Patrick Stewart by setting up his own thing with new characters.

One thing I do think they should have tried to include Denise Crosby, especially with alternative reality thing they did in s2. Would of been cool to see Tasha Yar again or even Sela
Other characters that I wanted to appear
Miles O’Brian
Vash
Alexander Rozhenko

Also if we could have voyager characters maybe a ds9 character that wasn’t worf would be nice. lol I know I included O’Brien on my list already
Quark, Bashir, Dax, Garak
