Ok. What is the chance of a Picard spinoff?

Doesn't that defeat the entire desired purpose of Legacy? Or at least how certain fans and Thy Lord Terry have envisioned it?

Paramount booted the original writers of S31 and replace them with someone else. They been constantly been finding new writers for the fourth Kelvinverse movie for the last decade.

Not to mention that TNG was a rework of Phase II.

It’s not hard to conceive Paramount reworking Matalas’s Legacy and Tawny’s show as something new under someone else who probably knows nothing about Star Trek.

Who said anything about fixing it? I want it continued, I don't view it as needing 'fixing' it served its purpose and has room to continue developing and evolving as it goes just like all series.
If you are happy with the way S31 turned out, more power to you.

I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think SNW and SFA will be the main focus for CBS/P+ for the foreseeable future. Tawny’s pet project might possibly get green-lit based on whatever clout she has with Kurtzman, but that’s not definite.

The Section 31 script was written by Craig Sweeney, who would have been the show's showrunner had it not been switched over to a movie.
The story was written by Bo Yeon Kim and Erika Lippoldt. But Craig Sweeney was the one who wrote the screenplay, and was the final writer of S31, which went through seven iterations before production.

S31 was also supposed to have a female director, before they settled on Olatunde Osunsanmi.

It went through a lot of changes before the final product.

I'd bet the biggest advantage that Tawny's project has in getting greenlit is that it will be considerably cheaper to produce than most of the other proposed alternatives.
