The James Bond Film Discussion Thread (With Bonus Lazenby!)

Curious if they will go "universe" with Bond. We've joked about spin offs in the past. Does it lend it self to that? A Felix Leiter series? A bunch of young boffins at Q Branch getting into trouble, much to Maj. Boothroyd's chagrin. Jinx or Wai-Lin films?
Hard to imagine that they paid a billion dollars to get control of Bond just to release one film every so often. If we don't get spin-offs and TV shows and whatever else, I'll be truly shocked.

They will definitely make spin-offs and TV series.

Since a big requirement of Bond movies is product placement to help with the budget, I wonder if Amazon would be willing to eat the product placement money in favor of period pieces. Henry Cavill as 1960s Bond, Idris Elba as 1970s Bond, Henry Golding as 1980s Bond. Maybe even bring back Dalton and Brosnan for Old Man Bond one-offs.

Whatever Amazon does with the license we need to break out of this "only one movie every four to seven years" crap that causes some fans to lose interest in new projects because of the entertainment news cycle and, well, it's patently ridiculous that a simple two-hour action film needs that long to gestate and be dropped into movie theaters.

And miss out on a high speed chase in an Amazon van or Q's gadgets getting delivered in Amazon boxes?

They will definitely turn it into a cinematic universe with 3 spin off movie series and a tv show.

I feel like we’ve been here before……

-new 3 part saga
-movie filling in the gaps
-movie that features a younger version of a character
-cartoons
-At least 5 live action tv series

I hate to say it but I feel like this is the end of James Bond as we know it.
In addition to the above example regarding Disney and Star Wars, lets not also forget what we've seen in Star Trek: the hits, misses and stuff that really should never have been greenlighted. I fear we are going to be seeing all of that with Amazon Bond.

What do you mean? Their HQ will be an Amazon warehouse with secret underground levels for the spy stuff and a huge ramp leading to the surface for unseen entry and exit.

"A View to a Bill"

(gotta pay for all that new Bond content!)
With the opening song Dance Into the Firestick.
I think it is since he died in the last movie so how else does the name carry on? Unless you're just trying to be difficult
Daniel Craig's movies did not take place in the same continuity as all the previous ones did. Stands to reason the next one will be in a new continuity as well.
