The End of an Era: Discontinued products, services, and defunct companies

I think it might be too late for the Party City next to my local Trader Joe's. I went grocery shopping this morning and the Party City was almost completely devoid of merchandise from what I could see from the outside.

We used to have a fast-food seafood chain called 'Skippers' that was really good. The last one in Wenatchee closed a few years ago.
Not sure how out of the way these are for you, but the sit-down locations in Silverdale and Puyallup appear to still be open, as well as a number of pick-up/takeout counters in gas stations or convenience stores. Source: https://www.skippers.com/find-us and https://skipperspuyallup.com/

Edit: An article on how the Silverdale location was saved, in 2022: https://www.kitsapsun.com/story/new...-a-sinking-skippers-in-silverdale/8255195001/

Unfortunately, I moved up closer to the Canadian border, so any trip down South or over the water would be an expensive trip for seafood.

As someone who doesn't like cherries, I always found chocolate-covered cherries to be a huge letdown. :p

Chocolate-covered strawberries, on the other hand...

Never had these before, myself.

That's really disappointing. I haven't had one in years, but I remember really liking them. :(

I prefer milk chocolate almonds.

It's dark chocolate for me. (It's good for you!) And the hierarchy goes something like this:

#4 - Dark chocolate covered cranberries
#3 - Dark chocolate covered almonds
#2 - Dark chocolate covered cherries (actual dried cherries, not the maraschino-style ones in the candies like Cherry Blossoms and Queen Anne... although admittedly I like them too)
And #1 -> Dark chocolate covered ginger!

The original Burgermaster location, which opened 73 years ago, is set to close next month as the property has been sold to a real estate developer who plans to construct a mixed use complex.
Fun fact, Bill Gates used to eat there regularly in college and it was there that he hatched the plans for what would eventually become Microsoft.

To be clear, these are for blank, burnable blu-rays that you record yourself. Sony is still producing commercial discs of movies and shows that you buy, as are other manufacturers. And other companies make burnable blank blu-rays, so even if you do record your own discs, there's still going to be a supply for the foreseeable future.

I actually just recently had to burn a DVD for the first time in about a decade for my nephew. It took longer to find the software to do it (that didn't cost an ostentatious amount of money) than it did to dig out an old spool of blank DVDs.
