The End of an Era: Discontinued products, services, and defunct companies

You'll question now whether it was ever the Bernstein Bears or if it's the Berenstain Bears.

Or whether Han shot first or...

You mean if it was Berenstein Bears vs Berenstain Bears. I've always felt that even if it had been Berenstein Bears, it was likely due to a printing mistake during early runs which is entirely possible. The official name for them were always Berenstain, as those are the names of the authors.

I guess everybody wants fresh these days. I used to use an ice cream scoop to get these out if they weren't thawed enough. The frozen lemonade came out of the can easily enough, though, maybe due to the sugar.

Edit:Sorry for the double post, I didn't want to start a second thread. This is meant to be an ongoing thread, like the "what are you reading?" etc.

They want to sell you tap water at orange juice prices. After age 40, I stopped drinking orange juice, and only eat the orange.

I still purchase my Minute Maid Orange Juice in the four pack at the grocery store, but I supplement that with Trader Joe's protein drinks.

I don't get straight up fruit juice but get these "smoothie" drinks instead and make sure to limit myself to maybe half a pint on a weekday and a pint on the weekend.

At my dietitian's recommendation I also have a protein shake every morning.

It's not just orange juice, it's all frozen concentrated juice in Canada and the US.

Hell, I didn't even know they still made the stuff. We used to have it all the time when I was a kid. My mom would take the can out of the freezer and let it thaw overnight, dump the concentrated slush into a quart jar, add three cans of water, shake thoroughly, and let it sit in the fridge for an hour or two. Then we had a quart of something that tasted vaguely like orange juice to drink with breakfast.

It occurred to me after reading my previous post, that Trader Joe's has concentrated orange and lemon juice in their freezer department.

The Pacific Northwest retailer Eddie Bauer is closing all its North American locations effective immediately and filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The parent company that owns a restaurant chain located primarily in Florida, called Bahama Breeze, is closing all locations. During closures, locations will be re-modeled and turned into other properties the parent company owns (like Olive garden).

I've never been to one. I don't think I've ever seen one.

I had to look them up as well.
There's only one in Washington State and it's located far south; so, I would never have had any reason to drive there.
It's funny that they want to turn the locations into Olive Garden because they shut down most of them here in Washington.
There's only a handful remaining.

Pizza Hut is planning on closing 250 locations in the United States, while its parent company, Yum Brands, is considering selling off the remaining locations to a third party.

Pizza Hut is a good fast food pizza. If that is happening, I wonder how that bodes for Domino's, Little Caecars, etc.
The reason they're closing is because Domino's, Papa John's, etc have overtaken Pizza Hut in terms of market share.
Pizza Hut used to be number one.
Now they're dead last.

Sad days, speaking as someone who once upon a time had the occasional temp job at Pepsi HQ, where they had a mini Pizza Hut in the cafeteria.
