Five and a half years after the original. That’s very disappointing

Meet the new DC movies, same as the old DC movies.
This is the same thing they did with Aquaman. A five year gap between releases of one of their biggest hit movies.

What are they thinking about? Matt Reeves’ Batman was originally slated for 2025. It’s been pushed back twice now.

Robert Pattinson is already 38 years old. I no longer see the point of him portraying Batman as a younger man. He is currently only four years younger than Ben Affleck, when the latter had started production for "Batman v. Superman".

Maybe they will de-age him using AI.

Missed that - I was going by things I've seen the principals say online over the last year or two. Thanks.

What Gunn did say about the Peacemaker season-ending scene was:

If Peacemaker is possibly contemporary to the Superman film rather than set a few years in the past, this makes it less likely that the Superfriends who appear in it are the JL per se.

I wonder if that some point they'll make a "DCU" edit of Peacemaker's first season - cut out all the things no longer in-continuity with the reboot. Probably not as that would probably mean going through, figure out what is still part of the new reality and tie the hands of future DCU creatives. But since they released the Snyder cut of JL, why not?
