Spoilers "Supergirl": the 6th and final season

Anyone find it weird that Supergirl went on for six seasons but it has zero cultural relevancy nowadays?
Smallville has more nostalgia than this show.
Not weird at all. If any series had an inherent lack of a creative and cultural impact to transcend its broadcast history, then it tends to fade (amount of seasons do not matter), with few ever talking about it. Not every series is going to have the most organic rise to global cultural phenomenon status like "network under-performer"-turned-syndicated mega hit a few years later such as Star Trek (TOS). That kind of appeal is quite rare among the innumerable TV series ever produced, and if one looks within a genre such as the TV superhero's, the number of truly quality, impactful series growing and/or inspiring nostalgia after their run are far and few between.

I don't know - give it time. I mean - Smallville is definitely a few years older than the whole Arrow-Verse. We'll get there, as we do with Enterprise nowadays. I read an article on the website "Agonybooth" couple of years ago, where someone said, that now this person watched Enterprise and thought, that it was good. So - sometimes, shows need time to be re-appreciated and gain cultural relevancy.

Same with Stargate. It aired - the franchise had a fantastic run of 17 years - and then it vanished. Give Supergirl time - in 20 years from now, I'm sure, people will say "Hey, this Supergirl-show with Melissa Benoist, that was a good one."

It doesn't help that Superman and Lois started just as her show was winding down in it's last season, so Superman...who let's face it, is the more known character, utterly overshadowed her in the consciousness of the Arrowverse viewers. That show just ended, and IMO, was better done all around so it's getting the bigger coverage and attention at the moment.

Not fair, really. But it is how it is.

Indeed, indeed.

Right now, we're watching Season 8 of Arrow and - boy - that's a Durcheinander. One part "Prepare for the Crisis-Crossover", one part "2040" - and now, in the penultimate episode, TPTB only focus on the Canaries. Nothing against Miss McNamara (I liked her in Shadowhunters), but this all is a big mess.

Sometimes shows should just END while they're still good and not drag on and on. Superman and Lois was planned for 7 seasons but had to end with its 4th and...well, I think it was better for it because it ended while things were still good. Maybe flash forwarding all the way to Lois' death, Clarks' death and their reunion in the afterlife was a tad uber-final but...well, considering they were so sure the CW was ending their Superhero shows they decided to go full on final and it worked.

That AMC Western "Hell on Wheels" was the same way. It ended when the writers wanted to end the show and as such it ended on a pretty decent note without being dragged on

I agree with Supergirl---but I think the first four seasons were excellent. The Arrowverse was a victim of the pandemic and the actress issue with Batwoman and after that everything just felt phoned in creatively. I stuck with the different series until the end, but without enthusiasm. The Diggle crossover was mandated for all the series. He was supposed to get a ring, or at least that was strongly hinted at--but the Arroverse days were numbered by that point. By Season 2 the writers were forced to say that Superman and Lois was on its own world and this version of the characters were not the same ones we had seen prior to Crisis. I don't know why Jimmy was played by a different actor, but I imagine this was because or real world issues rather than creative decisions.
There are a lot of shows out there that are even bigger hits and a lot more popular than Supergirl, that are then forgotten about the moment the final episode airs. So it's really not that unusual, although being based on such a well known, long running character at least gives Supergirl a little better chance of being remembered.

What does that mean in English?

The reason Green Arrow & The Canaries happened is because it was meant to be the backdoor pilot of the sequel series that didn't get picked up.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!

The last episode is sitting on my Tivo and I'm just pretending it's not the last one.

Remember in Kingdom Come when Magog kept traveling back in time and killing Superman one day earlier again, so that when Kal walks up to the pearly gates for his eternal reward... Saint Peter says "Big deal Clarky, we haven't let the last 10 thousand Supermen that died inside the perimeter, god has classified you as vermin."

Different show, but topic relevant:

I've finally gone back to Titans, which I last saw during season two. I don't know if season three is far worse than the first two or if I've just fallen out of like with the show in general. I know I was very disappointed in the season two finale, so at the very least my annoyance started there. (Also, whoever decided to hold over the season one finale to be the start of season two needs a good kick right in both balls.)

With season four being the last I'll definitely finish it (no spoilers please ;)) but if it wasn't the end I think I'd probably ditch it.

Do yourself a favor and stop at S02. Don't watch anymore. You'll thank me later lol.

I think Supergirl's legacy will be a bad show with a really great Supergirl in Melissa Benoist and maybe one of the better Lex Luthor's out their in John Cryer. I would not be shocked if at some point both of these actors will be asked to play these characters again but maybe in a different setting.

Which is, what they said about SG-1. And in all honesty: If a show is good it never overstays its welcome. SG-1 was good and - at least to me - Supergirl was good.

What does that mean in English?

"Durcheinander"? That's 'chaos', 'mess',' mix-up', muddle, clutter, confusion, disorder, jumble, helter-skelter.

The reason Green Arrow & The Canaries happened is because it was meant to be the backdoor pilot of the sequel series that didn't get picked up.

Yeah, that was a helter, as well as a skelter. They show, how the older William gets captured and... except for one short flashback in the final episode, they don't talk about this dangling plot-thread at all.

"bad show"? Really? Honestly, I never had a bad time, watching it. Quite the contrary, to me, this was a really optimistic show, even, when it went to dark places, the quintessence was: "As long, as you and your friends stand together, you can beat the problems." That's really optimistic, in especially in these days.

Overall, Supergirl's best season was the first.

Even though I'm not a Bat-guy -- or maybe because I'm not a Bat-guy, so I wasn't pissed off about anything they did that deviated from the comics -- I quite enjoyed season three. I thought Savannah Welch was great as Barbara Gordon.

I enjoyed Titans up to the first couple episodes of Season 4, which is all I've seen so far. I don't remember having any problems with Season 3.

I have to disagree, I think it will be remembered as a good show overall, that had a couple meh seasons. I think the good by far outweighed the bad.

I think the first couple of seasons of Supergirl was okay but even those seasons feel very inferior to Arrow, First 5 seasons of The Flash, Black Lightening ,Legends of Tomorrow except maybe the last season on or so and especially Superman ad Lois.
