And the Next Cancelled Show is...

The CW has laid off its entire scripted department, which was tasked with developing new programs for the network.

Also said to be on the chopping block is the unscripted/reality department as the network has decided to shift its focus to game shows and sports.

In a move that everyone saw coming, Amazon is shutting down the commercial-based Freevee (formerly IMDB TV) and moving everything onto Prime.

At least the CW will go out on a strong note with Superman and Lois being a good show.

It pretty much already has. We're watching Person of Interest - it says Freevee, but we're watching through Amazon Prime.

I guess now we know why the new Librarians show moved back to TNT.

The Splinter Cell movie starring Tom Hardy that was announced in 2012, I hope you weren't getting your hopes up for the past decade because it's now dead.

Speaking of Tom Hardy, is there ever going to be another season of Taboo? That show was awesome but I haven’t seen or heard of anything about it since the first 8 episodes came out back in 2017.

Last March, they released a statement that they hoped to have the new season out in 2024. So....nothing since then. Tom Hardy has lots of other projects going on. I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm also still thinking about it. In fact, as soon as I saw Tom Hardy's name here, I was about to bring the show up, but you beat me to it. Seems like every few years, they say "Oh, we're going to do it next year, definitely!"

...since, what, 2017?

I'll definitely need to rewatch the first season if and when the second finally does come out.

It's kind of funny that until yesterday, I wasn't even aware they had been working on a Splinter Cell movie, which can probably go for most people. Talk about stealthy ;)

I was semi-aware of it, but not that it was a proposed Tom Hardy film at all.

Well, it had been in production since 2012, which suggests it had been in development hell for a very long time. I wouldn't doubt it if Tom Hardy were only one in many choices over the years, as it sounds like a troubled production. And if it's had trouble, then it's likely for the best that they didn't go through with it.
