Spoilers ST Lower Decks - Starships & Technology Season 5 Discussion

5x03

- Where did they scare up a civilian shuttle from? Replication? Last year Billups had a whole ship for his Mandalorian cosplay, perhaps they have a supply of civvie vessels on hand for this sort of thing. Or really, they could've just used the ship from last year.
A bit late to the party...
But I think they would just acquire a shuttle as needed from the local "used shuttle" lot or whatever. Having their own stock of "civilian" shuttles would increase the chances of them being marked as Starfleet, which would be very detrimental to undercover ops.

I would LOVE to see what a "Used Shuttle" lot looks like in the civilian world within the UFP.

I wonder how many Credits it costs to acquire a "Used Shuttle".

Another STO ship design made canon with Episode 5, the Vastam Class Warbird, it appears on the side of an Arcade machine on Starbase 80

Perhaps it's an in-universe case of Romulan designers turning a fictional ship design into a real class?
Or, there's only so many bird-shapes to come up with for warbirds.
Perhaps the Vastam was based on a rejected design that got second wind, like how in STO the Valiant class saw the light of day.

I can't remember where, but I recently saw somewhere that the Vastam-style warbirds were rejected designs for a Romulan ship in either Nemesis or Star Trek.

Wasn't the game the image was on basically a Romulan variation on "Space Invaders" just with Kelvin-verse Constitution-class starships instead of the usually aliens?

I don't think it is a Kelvin-verse Connie. It seems to have the top saucer of the Kelvin-verse 1701-A an Excelsior and the nacelle struts of the SNW Enterprise where it is split in two. The nacelles don't correspond to either ship.

Maybe it is a Romulan time tampering easter egg?

EDIT: Found an image of the Kelvin 1701-A and saucer doesn't look like the game saucer.

I think it's the SNW/DSC Constitution, straight up. The vertical lines on the saucer correspond to the wide Excelsior-style impulse deck that extends over the back half of the saucer.

And looking at the other games (Cardboard Chaos, Ferengi's Fortune, one featuring the Cosmic Koala), "The Captain's Chair" looks very familiar. There's a hint of a ship visible on the game art (maybe an STO Luna-class variant), but the on-screen interface reminds me of 25th Anniversary/Judgement Rites, or maybe the SNES version of Starfleet Academy.

I thought so too but the vertical lines on the saucer extend far more forward than the SNW/DSC Constitution. If you were to draw out the lines from a SNW/DSC Connie it only goes forward till you reach halfway on the saucer. It looks more like the top of the Kelvin 1701-A or an Excelsior.

EDIT: found an image of the Kelvin 1701-A and it has a different impulse shape.

You can clearly see the negative space in the pylons that are on the DSC/SNW Connie

It's an approximation of the new Connie, not a 1:1 replica.

I do point out the ship has the pylons of the SNW Connie in an earlier post. However the saucer doesn't line up. Lower Decks has been very good at getting these details correct so it would be surprising to me that they would get the saucer that wrong if it is supposed to be the SNW Connie, IMHO.

Somehow, I find it

I don't recognise this ship. It looks a little bit like a Premonition class without time nacelle and with a rounder saucer?
