None of those other candidates were actively called fascists by American generals who have previously served under him, promised to be a dictator on day one, promise to use the military on US citizens, promise mass deportations, actively try to overthrow the United States government, or were 34 time convicted felons who pled the Fifth amendment under oath over a hundred times either, but I digress...

Conservatives weren't quite on the rampage about transgender folks, immigrants and restricting women's rights, that they are now. It is hard to gussy up current actions of Conservatives into something remotely respectable or funny.

If anything, during that time period mainstream conservatives (and democrats) were less tolerant of transgender rights (and LGBT in general) and abortion and even mainstream democrats were calling for crackdowns on immigration that sound exactly like the Trump platform. The only "rampage" is that the far left successfully moved the discussion so that what was mainstream 16 to 20 years ago is suddenly "far right."

And this is exactly why I think the reboot won't work. Too many people seem to want Hank and company to either denounce the politics they always had or be some sort of strawmen.

I'll give it a chance to engage me. I think the original was the perfect show, at the perfect time. It will be hard for it to be anything more than a pale copy of a legendary show.

Agree 100% on that. It's one of the few shows I bought the whole show on DVD for rewatching over and over.
