The review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes reported a 98% approval rating, with an average score of 8.20/10, based on 303 reviews. The website's critics consensus reads, "Ms. Marvel is a genuinely fresh addition to the MCU—both stylistically and substantively—with Iman Vellani ably powering proceedings with her super-sized charisma."[134] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned a score of 78 out of 100 based on 23 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".[135]

I think the character is liked for those who watched Ms Marvel but that doesn't seem to be lots of people. She was of course the best thing about the second Captain Marvel movie but that movie isn't really liked. I would love to see her in a successful hit so they keep the character going.
Other post seem to indicate solid ratings.
You are correct. The negative reviews of Ms Marvel came from the usual suspects for the usual reasons, and I give zero f***s what that lot has to say.
I'd say one god-level being per Avengers line-up is enough, so Captain Marvel and Thor would be crowded. And if I had to choose one of those two, as one who loves Love and Thunder...
Even if we agree with that interpretation (I'm agnostic on the matter; I'd want to see the real, non-guesstimate data), it wouldn't necessarily mean there'd be broad audience buy-in for a Young Avengers movie. Personally, as a non-comics guy, I dislike the whole idea of a Young Avengers flick; it seems to kiddie and twee.
And Cumberbatch, who said back in June that they start filming next year.
While she hasn't been announced, I can't imagine them not picking up with Monica Rambeau over in the X-verse.
Actually the show was pretty well reviewed. Worst complaints tend to be the villains were weak and maybe it didn't end on such a great final episode. Even the usual suspects tended to limit their complaints to the "Who is this for" complaint. Pretty much everyone likes Iman Vellani. I think she is going to be pretty popular in other stuff even outside of Marvel.
It would be a good idea to have at least one woman on the team, and she's really the only woman that fits.
Younger heroes like the Young Avengers and Champions are a pretty big part of the comics, so it makes sense we'd eventually get them in the movies too. DC already seemed to find a fair amount of success with the different takes on the (Teen) Titans, so it makes sense Marvel might want to give either Young Avengers or Champions a try.
That's right, I forgot about Cumerbatch, I guess Strange will be a definite member of the team.
I really think we will get the Young Avengers making their debut in the end credits of Doomsday or in Secret War. We could see some in Doomsday, but not as a team.
I'd say Ms. Marvel would be a better fit than Captain Marvel, given Danvers is too OP (not to mention not a great character). She could fit the kid role opened up by Peter Parker's absence (if indeed he sits at least Doomsday out). There's also Shuri, Cassie Lang, America Chavez, Jennifer Walters (She-Hulk), Valkyrie, Riri Williams, and any number of potential Asgardians and sorcerers.
Also, Pepper could be the organization's business leader (though Paltrow's willingness to return could mess with that). Finally, anytime is a good time to scour the multiverse for a Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman (Emma Stone).
The notion that Carol Danvers should be a primary Avenger in the next movie by default due to her being the only available woman is, in short, rubbish.
The biggest issue with the Young Avengers right now is they simply don't got a compelling roster just yet. In terms of depth that is. You got 4 good character so far. Some of these young characters they created are just not interesting. Right now they got 4 interesting characters. Spiderman. Ms Marvel,Kate Bishop and Billy Maximoff. Skaar might have some potential. Me I would toss in some new characters such as Kitty Pryde, BIlly's brother Tommy of course and not new but Vision as kind of a old member. Spider-Man would be the leader. He has the most experience.
Spider-man doesn't belong in any version of the Young Avengers/Champions (unless they introduce Miles). It would be bad for him and bad for them, and he certainly shouldn't be overshadowing characters like Kate and Kamala who have always been the core faces/leaders of their teams.
They obviously haven't introduced every character that was probably supposed to be a part of this, since we haven't seen Tommy full grown yet (and I suspect VisionQuest was at least originally partly intended to introduce Viv Vision for this, though whether it will still do that, I don't know). But America Chavez and Ironheart are both good characters already, too, and would only get better with more focus, and there's nothing wrong with Cassie Lang or Eli Bradley, either. Skaar only feels iffy because he isn't really a character yet, he's just a CGI image which wasn't very well-made. But honestly, I doubt Skaar was ever intended to have anything to do with the Young Avengers, anyway.
The biggest problem the hypothetical Young Avengers project has is it feels very questionable whether it will ever actually happen at this point, since they started introducing these characters years ago and still haven't announced anything focusing on them as a group even all the way up through 2026. Plus, with the Avengers movies clearly focused on the multiverse and the TV side slowing down to a crawl, and the post-Secret Wars world almost certainly heavily tilting toward the X-men, it's highly questionable where there would even be any room for this as a stand-alone project rather than them just being a random group of heroes in the background of Secret Wars.

Despite (or because) of an order of magnitude more output the entire MCU feels massively disconnected. There are twice as many characters now. Just feels too big.
Early MCU had this issue -- US president kidnapped in Iron Man 3, but no sign of Captain America, flying death fortresses above Washington DC but nothing from Stark.
Far from home did sort of acknowledge this with it's "unavailable" shtick, which we later realised was probably part of the whole Skrull undercover thing, but it gets difficult to tell world-scale stories when you are in a world with so many characters that could help.

The original run of The New Mutants ran a hundred issues. It was said that one of the reasons they changed the name to X-Force was because you could hardly call a team "new" when they had over a hundred issues.
Or pretty soon it will be "less mature" Avengers or "not quite as old" Avengers.
