At long last, Hallmark finally gets to the E-B!
That's a bit of a bummer to hear about the deflector. Compared to some of their earlier offerings like Voyager and the Defiant, Hallmark use to really go all-out detail wise.So I got the Enterprise B ornament today and the deflector dish does not have a light up feature! The product description is a lie! The placement of the battery compartment is right behind the deflect dish, making it impossible to have it lit up. The impulse engines are no longer lit, so the light up feature of this ornament is pretty lame. The color placements are off as well, no red for any of the impulse engines. No color for the now unlit deflector dish. While the collectors and the top of the nacelles do lit up, the usually grey nacelle coils are not painted either.
The name and registry are properly colored and they tried to put in the little names within the red stripes on the sides of the secondary hull. Overall, it’s a pretty lazy effort, comparing the other Enterprise ornaments before.
But I am glad that my Federation Starship Enterprise ornament collection is finally complete up to Picard. From TV to Refit, A, B, C, D & E. I even have the Kelvin-verse and SNW Enterprise ornaments.
Ooooo... I should go snag the Refit, i somehow missed it back in 2019.They're also rerunning the Discovery and Enterprise Refit (which, I hadn't realized when it first came out, was a new sculpt and not just a repaint of the 1701-A they did years ago).
Unfortunately, the light up features on the 2019 refit ornament is nowhere near the 2005 Enterprise-A ornament. Basically, only the nacelles and deflector dish light up.Ooooo... I should go snag the Refit, i somehow missed it back in 2019.
Got mine from Hallmark's website. Only took about a week to arrive. Not complete enamored with the sculpt or lighting features, but it will do.Weird... Amazon still doesn't seem to have it yet. It's usually available there by October with previous releases.
