I adore Spock's World. I haven't read Ghost Ship in over 35 years but I remember it was really good.
I liked The Vulcan Academy Murders when I was a teenager. Was I wrong?
I was scandalized by Yesterday's Son and the implication that Spock and Zarabeth had actually done it. (I didn't realize that there was 1960's TV code for "heck yeah they did it".)

I haven't read Ghost Ship in over 35 years but I remember it was really good.
Ghost Ship is an interesting read because it was written before TNG aired and the author only had the series bible and the pilot script to work from. The characters all act in ways that are jarring after seven seasons of TNG, four movies, and three seasons of Picard, but if you go back and watch Encounter at Farpoint afterwards, you can see how the book is a plausible extrapolation of where the series was going in 1987.

I read it when it came out and I remember that not only did it feel like the characters I had been watching (for one season, IIRC) but it felt like they were alive. I can't say what it would read like in 1994 instead of 1988.

The two things I remember (think I remember): It touches on the pain that Geordi feels from his VISOR. This was mentioned in Farpoint and never addressed again. And was this the book where Wesley was messing around with the anti-matter tanks? He had come up with some scheme to do a cool thing and Geordi stops him? When Wesley's scheme is called upon to save the day not only does it not work, but he realizes that without the safeties that Geordi built in it would have destroyed the Enterprise.

Wesley is an acting ensign in this book. So that must have been planned early on then.

The big thing I remember is that Riker is a bigoted jerk towards Data, which follows on from his attitude in Farpoint, but which was quickly dropped from the series.

Here's what's on sale on Amazon Canada right now, not including the ones "permanently" on for 99 cents, or the regular monthly sales (which are apparently $1.99 now)--see @Obsidian_Phil 's post above for those.

Thank you! I'd not spotted the two numbered TOS ones, they weren't showing in the Star Trek Series chart, which is where I normally look for the deals.

The 99p UK ones for December seem to be up already, and are:

Shadow of the Machine, by Scott Harrison (TOS)
Dreams of the Raven, by Carmen Carter (TOS)
Rogue Saucer, by John Vornholt (TNG)
Typhon Pact Khitomer Accords omnibus (Plagues of Night, Raise the Dawn, and Brinkmanship), by David R George
The Insolence of Office, by William Leisner (TNG Slings and Arrows)
Strangers from the Sky, by Margaret Wonder Bonnano (TOS)

Right now, I'm seeing the following for $1.99:

Ishmael
Strangers From the Sky
Masks

For $2.99:

Hidden Universe Travel Guide: The Klingon Empire

If you have been sleeping on Strangers From the Sky in previous sales, do consider it again. It is one of the best Trek novels out there.
